REVIEW OF LITERATURE:

1. Saravanan, K. (2021), evaluated the work-life balance of female teachers in Arts and
Science College, Trichy City, Tamil Nadu. The main objective of the study was to find
out the various level of work-life balance of women teachers and examined the various
socio-demographic factors affected on the work-life balance of the female teacher. The
researcher was selected 100 respondents as samples and this study collected primary data
through a questionnaire. The statistical package for social science (SPSS) was used to
analyze the data. The finding of this study revealed that work-life balance was highly
affected on more than fifty percent of the female teacher and more than 25 percent of
female employees had low work life balance. This study revealed that there was no
significant relationship between the type of age, family, years of work experience,
difference nativity background and marital status of the women teachers, and work-life
balance. Additionally, there was a positive relationship between the monthly income and
the work-life balance of the women teachers.

2. Kristy S.Chunta (2020) : The study is conducted among the nurse leaders to evaluate
the barriers of joy in workplace and work-life balance. The study suggested
implementing IHI’s four step model to measure the barrier factors of job in work place.
Nurses have to maintain and manage a complex role on a daily basis. They have varies
responsibilities such as managing the staff, coordinating the staff, managing patient,
managing family roles, meeting the expectations of the organization and enhancing
productivity and outcomes.

3. Olumuyiwa Akinrole (2019) 30This study examines the effect of a time usage policy On
employee work life conflict and the impact of leave programme on employee attitude
using five selected banks in Nigeria. Work life balance initiatives are determinants of
employee behavioural outcomes when used correctly and appropriately.
4. SrirangJha and Vandana Malviya (2018) work life balance is a popular catchphrase in
the modern management vocabulary. The concept of a fair integration of roles and
responsibilities at work and home has been doing the rounds in academic discourse and
management practises for over five decades now.

5. According to C. Karpagham and R. Magesh (2017) their study has been done to
investigate the work life balance of the employees employed in the Organized
Manufacturing Sector and it was found out that employees were affected by the working
hours the most. According to Idris Ganiyu, Ziska Fields and Sulaiman Atiku (2017)
the work life balance strategies act as a mediator between the factors acting as work
stressors and the performance of the manufacturing firms. They recommend the strategies
related to work life balance need to be redesigned in order to reduce the negative
effect of stress on the performance of the organization

6. According to Omar Fayaz Khan and Asif Iqbal Fazili (2016) work life balance
gains its importance, much because of the technical innovations where the expectations
of the employees are increasing to adopt customer orientation. The introduction of
virtual office has blurred the gap between the work and personal life of an
individual. This benefits the employee and increases the organization effectiveness by
enhancing the productivity, Organization citizenship behaviour and organizational
performance.

7. K.G. Sentilkumar (2015) stated many institutions of higher learning in India are swiftly
integrating the advanced technology, mostly and communication technology into their
teaching learning process.

8. M. Lokanadha Reddy and P. Mohan Reddy (2014) studied the work life balance in its
broadest sense is defined as a satisfactory level of involvement or ―fit‖ between the
multiple roles in a person life.The present research paper aims endeavouring the
empirical evidence of work life balance concerning employee of public sector and private
sector bank. Jagdeep Singh states that the current work station scenario is marked by the
pace of change ,intense pressure, constant declines, changing demographics, increased
use of technology has affected the lives of employees. Manisha Purohit work life balance
is a concept including proper prioritizing between ―workaholics‖ on the one hand and
―life style‖ on the other.

9. Vijaya Mani (2013) has revealed the major factors influencing the Work Life Balance of
Women professionals in India such as role conflict, lack of recognition, organizational
politics, gender discrimination, elderly and children care issues, quality of health,
problems in time management and lack of proper social support.

10. K. Santhana Lakshmi et al, (March 2013) have examined that the Educational
institutions should address the Work Life Balance related issues among their staff,
specifically women and take a holistic approach to design and implement the policies to
support the teaching staff to manage their WLB.

11. KumariK.Thriveni et al, (2012) have studied and analysed the significant relationship
between the demographic variables and WLB. Shalini and Bhawna 2012 reported in their
study, Quality of work life is being used by the organizations as a strategic tool to attract
and retain the employees and more importantly to help them to maintain work life
balance with equal attention on performance and commitment at work.

12. Heather S.McMillan et al, (2011) suggested that the individual harmony and its effects
has developed a new Harmony based on conflict and enrichment. N.Krishna Reddy et
al, (2010) concluded that the married women employees indeed experience Work Family
Conflict (WFC) while attempting to balance their work and family lives. Thus,
Organization needs to formulate guidelines for the management of WFCs since they are
related to job satisfaction and performance of the employees.

13. Niharika and Supriya (2010) have studied the work based factors and family related
factors that are considered to contribute to work life balance. Work based factors are flexi
time, option to work part time and freedom to work from home and the family related
factors are child care facility and flexibility to take care of emergencies at home.
14. According to Reimara Valk a, Vasanthi Srinivasan (2009), Indian labor markets had
witnessed significant changes in IT professionals, particularly in the software services
sector experience the high entry rate of women. This study showed that the working
women were faces high pressure to maintain the balance of their personal lives and work.
The main aim of this study was to know and understand the work and family-related
variables that affected the work-family balance of working women in Indian IT sectors.
This study was adopted an exploratory qualitative research study. This study selected 13
IT professional women working in Bangalore, India. This study examined the different
variables namely social support, familial influences, self, and professional identity, work-
life challenges, multi-role responsibilities, and coping strategies, organizational practices,
and policies.
