Chapter 1
Definition of terms
1. Sex- it's scientifically the identification of ones chromosomes. Individuals carries only two
reproductive system which signifies our true definitions both external and internal , the
vulva, breast, penis and testicles. Example, XX chromosome is the identity of a male and XY
chromosome is the identity of a female.

2. Gender- it refers to how you feel yourself internally and express externally. How you
portray yourself in the society. There are many other ways in which a person may define
their own gender. Gender also exists as social constructs — as gender “roles” or
“norms.” .Example, gender identity –cisgender, transgender, gender fluid and non-binary.
Gender expression – masculine, feminine and androgyne.

3. Society- it is a group of people who influence growth of individual. For example, the smallest
unit of society is the family.

1. Sex is assigned at birth based on one’s physical biology. It refers to the biological difference
between men and women. Example, we are born as male and female or it is based on

identity. It refers to the socially constructed difference between men and women. Example, a
male expressed himself as a feminine side or other example is that, gender represents the
LGBTQ community or SOGIE

2. Gender stereotyping is one of the most conflicting reasons to achieve gender equality. Women
are naturally given a caring hand to safeguard the child and to maintain the house itself, and
that's the reason why our society standard didn't allow a man to remain and babysit the child
and to take care the house or until now it will make them a less man because of pride and we
are not used to it. However today we witnessed a lot of a housekeeper husbands who take care
of everything very well than their wives. It's just depends upon the situation and negotiations of
the partner. It totally shows gender equality since both partner work for mobility of the family. If
a wife find the higher wages to support the family, the husband is automatically in-charge of the
children and house. It show fairness from the both sides since it was for the family's good. And,
many of the man possess good caring hand.

Analysis
1. I disagree the message of illustration trying to convey me. Women are not above to the men nor
vice versa. Women have no power to over rule everything and so the men too. It should be fair,
balanced and shows gender equality as always.

2. The condition is called hermaphroditism which there is a discrepancy between external and
internal sexual and genital organs. There are four different types of hermaphroditism and it is
caused by imbalance hormones development and excessive exposure to each sexes during
formation in the womb.

1. False. Sexuality- it refers to a preference of oneself orientation and a self-awareness of
identification. To emphasize, it's how individual viewed other person sexually. It maybe
physically, emotionally or other reasons of attractiveness. Example, LGBTQ+ is a diverse of
sexual preferences. These are the choices of a person to be called as a individual, a chosen
preference to represent themselves and the comfortable identities to showcase the ability and
capability in the society. However, sex is a biological identity of individual such as male and
female.

satisfaction, it's also connected to hierarchy of needs and it deals with factual. Having sex is held

to be a natural thing. After all, a culture, in order to survive, must reproduce and copulation is
the usual way. And if copulation is to occur, both males and females must have some propensity
for sexual behavior.

2. Sex is important to marriage life. Sex is a holy thing of a marriage life because they are task to
multiply, –for they are the descendants of all living things. Sex is important especially to men. It
is discussed in the learning module that men has a greater urge when it comes to sexual activity
because scientifically men wants pleasure and satisfaction than women.

3. Claiming a partner as sexual property is wrong perception/behavior in the relationship.

Relationship should be partnership not ownership. Anyone of us has no right to claim our
partner as a sexual property because we are not a object or animal to be called as property.

4. Biblically, nonmarital sexuality is against of His commandments. Let's see you are a unbeliever.
But, it is also against our norms, tradition and society standard. It is still not acceptable but, after
the several times we encountered that kind of situation we became used to it after the years.
We witnessed non-marital sexuality of different situations why a person committed that, others
may have a valid reasons, others is lack of guidance and as a eyewitness we understand even it’s
a wrong doing, considering the fact of the environment they’re involved to. As we respect each
boundaries it become rampant nowadays, which caused broken family, chaos and family feud.
Case Study
Setting your target goals for betterment is not a hypocrisy, what makes you hypocrite is aiming
for to high in exchange of self-worth, confidence and conscience. What is meant for you will always find
a way to find you, there’s no forcing or begging. Everything we encountered is just temporary, our
happiness, friends, family and especially the topic, the job position. Yes, higher position means greater
wages and it is advantage for the family as a breadwinner however, it’s not satisfying if even yourself
betrayed you and make you feel less just to sustain –that’s the worst worthless thing to felt unhappy of
what you can give . For me, I don’t mind what someone can give even if it’s little or not as long as we
both find genuine happiness I’m totally contented with it. Some things have to undergo processes just
like position. We don’t have to surrender our dignity, we just have to wait the right timing and don’t be
rush cause if you still aiming for it you can achieve it.

Chapter 3
1. Both of my parents are a breadwinner. They have a ordinary occupation and don’t
received a high wages but they become a helper of each other to sustain our needs and
wants, and it’s the same thing as both breadwinners.
2. Both of my parents are a decision-maker. They consulted each other to build or plans
our future. If there’s a plan they even consulted us too in order to plan properly. We
have this open forum and exchanging ideas to balance, suggest and support the said
plans.
3. Both of my parents are a housekeeper. When my mother left the house automatically
my father will be in-charged of taking care of us and vice versa. They both do household
chores and they both taught us to do chores.

4. Both of my parents are a disciplinarian. They both talk to us when we committed a sin,
give consequences and advices.
5. Both. No one is perfect, everyone committed a sin and there’s no exception whether a
father or mother in terms of extramarital affairs. We can witness it that not only a father
trying to find satisfaction that’s why he have affairs but also a mother. However, it does
not apply my family. Both my parents are faithful and loyal. In connection, we are
humans we committed a sin and that’s not based on gender, sex and whatsoever.
Essay
As the years go by, our tradition family structure has changed that become an ideal to us.
There's a interchange of responsibilities, task and equilibrium of treatment.
Growing up, gender equality is being taught to me of my parents and it's has been applied to my
family. The equal of force we exert has a significant difference but we try to work together. My father
leads for financial support and the rest of the family members are assistance or helper to him. The same
thing for my mother case. Honestly speaking, we are all grown up (siblings) and majority of the time we
decided our work plans to earn in order to sustain our necessity or in another term, individually we are
a solid support system to each other. Work is being distributed fairly like how we do house chores and
there's a schedule of every task so that every task is not heavy.
The easiest way to finish a work is through cooperation. Equality instead of reasonsing I can't do
that, I don't know that.

Chapter 4
Classification
1. Nursing is both suitable for women and men. We can witnessed that there's a lot of nursing
students taking up both women and men, and that’s the reality we face that one's identity is
not a hindrance of it especially when your core is assisting the health of a patient. As what I
experienced both women and men nurses were both efficient and effective of their
occupations.
2. Engineering is both suitable for women and men. Others believed that men are more
brilliant when it comes to mathematics however women were also capable of solving it too.
Women compete not just because of skilled but because of excellent works. We witnessed
how everyone is equipped in engineering field.
3. Teaching is both suitable for women and men. It's not about the identity, it's about the
passion in order to help the children.
4. Caregiving is both suitable for women and men. Yes, we heard women usually in the
caregiving field but as we can see men are also able to give care and assistance too. Many
will think it's a feminine job but it's not about gender, sex and identity, it's about the heart
to give and help.
Essay
1. Males and females cooperate within pair bonds by targeting different foods so that everyone in 
the household benefits.Females may target foods that do not conflict with reproduction and chil
d care, while males will target foods that females do not gather, increasing variance in daily cons
umption and providing a broader diet for the family. In connection to our society, everyone

were given a chance differently knowing the risk. Everyone portray as what they wanted to and
had its freedom. Furthermore, there's still a discrimination however I witnessed people did
promote equality.

2. I strongly disagree that women are "pambahay lang".Women can go beyond what people may
think of and it is proven and tested for the long duration of time. In conclusion, babae ako, hindi
babae lang.

Analysis
I am trained in my mind that "what men can do, believe yourself that you can also do". In my own
perspective, there's no work of men, women can't do. In the field of work, what men can do, women
can also do, the answer is possibly everything they can.
If men will say, how about carrying of heavy things? Are women able to do that? And is Hidilyn Diaz a
joke to you? Considering she has a heavy training. Also including my siblings don't have a heavy training
but we can still do that. I can say that women is already independent in terms of work. This also implies
that we’re all “equal however different”.

Chapter 5
Essay
1. My parents did not allow me or tolerate me of resisting men jobs. Honestly, it's tiring because
men jobs is quite too heavy. On the other hand, I respected each diversity. It is conflict in the
views of society however respect and acceptance is a must because it is the reality. I am open
minded about one's identity so I can felt their feelings if they heard discrimination. We can't
change the fact because it's biologically nature caused of environment influence. In that simple
way I believed I promoted gender equality.

2. The following statements below are the several ways I believed I can build a mutually respectful
and responsible relationships towards one another;
 Listening to and comprehending each other's points of view 
 Being willing to learn new things and about each other's values. 
 Clearly communicating one's wants and needs. 
 Being open to resolving disagreements; negotiating and reaching a compromise.
 Respect and accept.

3. I think among the four principles, promoting women's security and combating gender-based
violence should be given a pay close attention or concern too. Because Women are still
vulnerable of violence and any sexual harassment form. I am even a victim of sexual
harassment and that's the horrible thing I've experienced in my whole life. The trauma is not
healing, I just accepted the fact that what is done, is done. Women is not secured even today.

Women are still oppressed the rights of living without violence. Still prone of any violence that's
why that long term principle goals I've mentioned above should be a priority of gender equality.
Chapter 6

True or False
1. False. Marriage first before sexual intercourse. Even you are absolutely sure about the person
it's not the ideal to have sexual intercourse to your partner already because what if you are the
one who is sure and your partner is not? There's a Facebook quote I rid "the last time I was sure
broke me because he's not sure to me after all".

2. True. I have the right to say NO because this is my body and I owned it. No one have to right to
dictate me.

3. True. Many news we heard that women are being raped in the cemetery, school, forest and
even on the side of the road.

4. False. To remain silent will causes another crime and victim to suffer. Women should know that
there's a law called VAWC or the Violence Against Women and Children. We have the right to
fight our human rights. It is both protection to everyone if we will disclose the case.

5. False. No, sexual abuse is not business so I have the right to help, report to the authorities and
file a case as a witness. I should protect women for it is right and just.

The important lesson I learned on this course is gender equality. Just I like how I am trained in my home,
we should apply it to our society and we shouldn't based on gender and sex for a role and
responsibilities of the society. It's already a new decades and our standards has changed and we should
accept it. Gender and sex is not a measurements of any skills. Let's practice and normalize that there's a
significant difference today, we are totally equal of creating something new. And if your strength is
capable regardless of your identity, gender and sex then you are not a option of it, no doubt you deserve
it and that's gender equality.
