PED002-DAY 3 Meeting

Learning Objectives:
At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to:
1. Recognized the brief Historical and Philosophical background, MVGOs and Core Values
of CSPEAR.
2. State insights and understanding on the basic concepts of Physical Education and other
related concepts thru K-W-L chart.
3. Describe feelings of self-worth that arise through striving for personal success in physical
activity and quality of life (striving to be the best you can be within, the joy of effort)
4. Demonstrate inclusiveness in group activities in a social context (the educational value of
being a positive role model, friendship, non-discrimination, respect for others)

Checking of attendance:
So, before anything else we will first check your attendance.

Recap:
So last meeting we have discussed the history, philosophy, MVGOs and Core Values of
MSUS. So, for now, we will proceed to the brief History, Philosophy, VMGOs and Core
values of CSPEAR.
History:

The College of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (CSPEAR) which was created


through BOR Resolution No. 2113, approved on March 21, 1980, offers a Bachelor of Physical
Education and a professional diploma in Physical Education.

Goals:
Area 1-Instruction
 Offer curricular programs
o BS PE
o PDPE
o SPE
 Human Resources and services
 Environment for teaching
 Strengthen its curricular program
Area 2- Research
 Aims to strengthens research in college
 Strengthens its collaborative linkages in establishing to be the leading institution in the
southern Philippines

Area 3- Extension
 Enhance CSPEAR extension programs and services within University and Mindanao
 Develop trainings for extension specialist and volunteers
Area 4- Athletics
 Strengthens sports program
 Total development of the students and other members of the university
 Develop leadership and promotion of high caliber athletes for regional, national and
international
Area 5-Linkages
 Strengthens its linkages such that academic institution, organization in local, national and
internationally
