For kids' health and well-being, school lunch is essential. It helps to guarantee that

students have access to nutrition throughout the day to focus on learning. According to research,

students who receive free or discounted school lunches have lower food insecurity, overweight,

and poor health rates. The consequences of inadequate nutrition in school lunches extend beyond

weight gain. School lunches have risen to the top of the priority list for all of the

"sanctimommies" in existence (Khodavandi, C. 2019). This paper looks at reflecting and

comparing school lunches.

For their little superheroes, they're on a journey to prove that they serve the healthiest,

most organically grown, most whole-grain, and sugar-free lunches possible. That was not always

the case, and it's sometimes easy to forget that we grew up in an era that was raised on lunches

consisting of two slices of Wonder Bread, a couple of cheese slices, and a bottle of Tang

(Williams, N. 2019). They used to bring their lunch in metal-packed lunches with sharp corners

and an image of one of our favorite television characters emblazoned on the front. The metal

lunch boxes were hefty, got beaten up, and most of them had scars from a bent metal side on one

of their sides. Unlike then, in the current times, we spend money on a brand spanking new BPA-

free lunch bag, which we use for the rest of the year. This inspires youngsters to eat healthily,

craving delicately cooked fish and nutritious fermented plums for lunch every day.

During past lunches, vegetables consisted of big carrots, pickle slices with the seeds

scooped out, and chunks of green pepper. Oranges, which had rough skin that required the use of

your front teeth to open, and Red Delicious apples were the only options for fruit. Currently

available are sliced organic mangoes, berries, kiwi fruit, dragon fruit, and mulberries, all of

which are fair-trade. During lunch, the children carefully take grapes from their stalks, slice the

newest heirloom apples, and place foraged raspberries on a kale leaf to protect them from the
3

elements. Baby carrots, sugar snap peas, and raw cauliflower should be added at this point.

Children also check the lid on the homemade hummus and lunch boxes to ensure it is securely

fastened.

In conclusion, I believe that the gains made at lunch are significant enough to impact the

scores throughout the day and that kids are not undoing the improvements made at lunch by

consuming less nutrient-dense foods at other meal times.
