A VITAL FACTOR FOR

SUCCESS
- Arokoyo Kayode P.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
To get a good understanding of
the concept of planning,
appreciate it’s importance and
how to put it to use to enhance
success in our undertakings.
INTRODUCTION
“Any enterprise is built by wise planning,
becomes strong through common sense,
and profits wonderfully by keeping
abreast of the facts.” Prov. 24:3-4 (TLB)
WHAT IS PLANNING?
Planning may be defined as
deciding in advance what to do,
how it is to be done, when it is to be
done and by whom it is to be done.
Planning bridges the gap
between where we are (present)
and where we want to be
(future).
Biblical Basis for
Planning
▪ Jer. 29:11
▪ Prov. 6:6-11
▪ Lk. 14:28-30
Jer. 29:11
“For I know the plans I have for
you, declares the Lord, plans to
prosper you and not to harm you,
plans to give you hope and a
future.”
Prov. 6:6-11
v6 “Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and
be wise! v7 It has no commander, no overseer or ruler,
v8 yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its
food at harvest. v9 How long will you lie there, you
sluggard?. When will you get up from your sleep?
v10 A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the
hands to rest, v11 and poverty will come on you like a
thief and scarcity like an armed man.”
Lk. 14:28-30
v28 “Suppose one of you wants to build a
tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the
cost to see if you have enough money to
complete it?. v29 For if you lay the foundation
and are not able to finish it, everyone who sees
it will ridicule you, v30 saying, ‘This person
began to build and wasn't able to finish.’
