Flash powder is used in pyrotechnics to produce a bright ash without a lot of smoke, it can be very dangerous to work with and is regulated by the
government. In this guide we’ll show you how to obtain a license and then safely show you how make ash powder.

How to make ash powder: Materials

1 You need to have an ATF license to purchase, make and use ash powder. DO NOT make this illegally, ATF License
and we actually don’t recommend you make it at all. This guide is just showing the science behind it.

3 Combine dry chemicals in a small dish. Only make enough that you’re going to use, we don’t recommend storing this.

How does ash powder work ?

Flash powder is a pyrotechnic composition, a mixture of oxidizer and metallic fuel, which burns quickly and if con ned produces a loud report. It is
widely used in theatrical pyrotechnics and reworks (namely salutes, e.g., cherry bombs, M-80s, recrackers, and cap gun shots) and was once used for
ashes in photography.
Flash powders even within intended usages often release explosive force of deadly capacity. Nearly all widely used ash-powder mixtures are sensitive
to shock, friction and electrostatic-discharge. In certain mixtures it is not uncommon for this sensitivity to spontaneously change over time, or due to
change in the environment, or to other unknowable factors in either the original manufacturing, or in real-world storage.
