Midterm Examination in SELF 1-Understanding the Self

Name: Date:

I. Discuss the following questions comprehensively. Ten (10) points each.

1. Differentiate Online Identity from Personal Identity.

- Most online identities are fictitious, but that doesn't imply there aren't
people who are genuine to their identities; they are, however,
extremely unusual. Many people try to compare their real selves to fake
identities of others on the internet, especially celebs, and feel unworthy
of themselves, but the truth is that every picture displayed on the
internet is filtered again and again, until it becomes impeccable, even
the celebs know that, so finally, I want to say that most of the identities
displayed online are not true. If you appreciate my response, please
vote it up.
Personal identity, as the name implies, is genuine, it is who you
genuinely are, it is the most authentic version of yourself, free of masks
and deception. Most of the time, you will be your actual self and will not
strive to develop a false persona in order to be liked and loved by
others, but it does not imply that in real life, there are individuals who
do not disclose themselves and fake their true selves.
2. What are your goals as a student? What actions are you taking to achieve your
goals?
- As a student, my goal is to finish my degree with good grades. In that case, my
parents will be proud of me, I will be proud of myself too. My goal is to have a
stable job, where I can provide the needs of my family, support my parents as
well.
When you set your objectives, strive to connect with a future version of yourself
by developing a vivid vision of your future self when you achieve your goals. As
you keep a clear image of the person you'll eventually become from now on, it
will always remind you of all the work you need to put in. Begin by breaking out
your objectives. You'll have a better idea of what you want to achieve. Make a
to-do list to help you improve rapidly. Determine how much work is required.
Plan your actions to lay the groundwork for your foundation. You'll be pleased
to observe how each modest step you take contributes to the major objective
over time. As for now, I need to study hard to achieve my first goal in life. You
simply need to take one step forward at a time. And there you will arrive at your
destination. Have faith in yourself. And you'll always be on the correct track.
3. What is the metacognitive process? Identify the three categories of metacognitive
processes.
- Metacognition is the process of thinking about one’s own thinking and
learning.More precisely, it refers to the processes used to plan, monitor, and
assess one's understanding and performance. Metacognition includes a critical
awareness of a) one's thinking and learning and b) oneself as a thinker and
learner. The three categories of metacognitive processes are: Person Variables,
includes how one views himself as a learner and thinker. Task Variables,
includes knowledge about the nature of the task as well as the typeof
processing demands that it will place upon the individual. Last, Strategy
Variables involves awareness of the strategy you are using to learn a topic and
evaluating whether this strategy is effective.
4. What is meant by self-regulated learning and its importance to you as a student?
- Self-regulated learning is a continuous cycle in which the student designs a task,
checks their performance, and then reflects on the results. The cycle is then
repeated as the learner adjusts and prepares for the following challenge using
the reflection. This means that the learner is once again in command of his or
her own learning. When a student is in command of their own education, they
must first learn how to plan. Planning implies that you are in the process of
bringing things to fruition. In the case of self-regulated learning, planning means
that you are in charge of determining which tasks to do now and which are to
be completed later. You plan out your subjects' timetables, how you'll obtain
information, and how you'll finish everything. Self-regulated learning is
important for me as a student, it will teach me to improve myself in terms of
time scheduling, making decisions, and solving problems on my own. I will learn
to find a solution so I will be able to learn on my own.
5. Identify at least 3 sources of your stress and discuss the strategies you made to cope
with stress.
- Workloads, feeling discouraged and comparing myself to others. I handle my
stress by taking a break from those thoughts. I watch videos that encourage
people and some relaxing music. One of my strategies for handling my stress is
to sleep. I also make a list of everything that troubles me or makes me
miserable. Like a mindmap, I may break down the reasons why I felt that way
and then confront it and find a strategy to overcome it.
Every human being experiences stress at some point in their lives. Life is a
symphony of joy and agony. We must be prepared for both scenarios. Stress
management is an art and a talent in and of itself. Life is not so much about
what is given as it is about how it is received. As a result, optimism, confidence
in the supernatural, getting therapy when needed, disregarding minor concerns,
gaining internal strength, having courage to confront the worst, comparing
ourselves to individuals who suffer more than we do, and contentment will help
us deal with day-to-day stress.

GOODLUCK AND BE SAFE ALWAYS
