To whom it may concern,

This letter is a recommendation for Emma Hair.

I have gotten to know Emma via her joining our volunteer team of Interpreters for the Deaf at
Christ Fellowship Church. I have found her to be an astonishingly incredible young lady. At
Christ Fellowship, we serve the deaf in person, online, as well as in kids church; Emma has
been an incredible asset to our team. It is clear, that Emma puts time into studying and
preparing for her interpreting commitments. Her ability to stray from the linear language of
English, and change in to ASL, is very surprising given her new status in the interpreting world.
This has been evident on practice-able content such as songs, as well as new and off-the-cuff,
spoken content. When concepts come up that might have a bit different product than what she
used, she is open, receives it, discusses the concepts, and applies the next time that concept
comes up. An example of this is when “God speaks to us” or “We hear God”; in church we don’t
want that to exclude Deaf, so we discussed one way would be to interpret that as “God
communicates with us”.

Though she is the least experienced interpreter on our team, she has continually excelled to be
a leader in other aspects. She is a very intelligent young lady who joins in and contributes to our
discussions as to deep meaning of concepts and give perspectives that the other people in the
group hadn’t thought of. She does in depth research to help us solve group issues, questions,
tech issues or marketing ideas. We had a short informal lunch in which we spoke about tech
issues and increasing our social media footprint and she shared with our team, an incredible 3
pages of typed notes and an in-depth Plan Of Action!!!! Astonishing! Her heart, thoroughness,
follow-up, attention to detail, professionalism, patience, and morals will lead this young lady to
do great things for our Deaf community and all people who encounter her.

I am a RID Certified CI/CT Interpreter of 35 years, and a Registered Nurse, yet I truly look
forward to continuing to learn from her! As an adult coming into our profession, representing
Deaf and Hearing people, I have no doubt that she will provide the utmost of professional
services including clear concepts, confidentiality, and she will continue to grow as an interpreter
and a woman of God. She will only get better with experience! We are blessed to have her in
our profession and on our team.
