Introduction:
Recently there has been a panicking incident in Kolkata about restaurant serving rotten animal meat.
According to reports the sale of non veg food items like mutton, pork and chicken has halved across
restaurants in Kolkata. Obviously, it affected the sales of KFC in Kolkata. There are some misleading
posts in social media platforms which are acting like a catalyst in this burning issue. In order to bring
back normalcy an urgent meeting has been scheduled between

Aindrilla – Let me come straight to the point. My colleague Souvik has some alarming data regarding
the sales records of the past two months. Souvik, Can you please elaborate the issue ?

Souvik- The sales recordof the past two months has drcreased by 40% , which in turn has caused
huge losses in the Indian Sector of KFC. The sales records for Q1 were pretty good by standards but
in Q2, the sales have gone down by 40%.

Aindrilla- Can you guys please care to explain the reason behind this?

Prodyumna – As you already know, Recently there has been a panicking incident in Kolkata about
restaurant serving rotten animal meat. This has adversely effected the sales as people are afraid that
we are also serving rotten chiken.

Prodyumna- Yes please go ahead.

Koustav- The main problem with the current scenario is the false rumours that are being spread
across the social media platforms. No matter how stringent the Quality Assurance procedures are,
the customers have lost faith in us.

Aindrilla- Yes, I understand it is also affecting the brand image of KFC. Do something fast!

Prodyumna- Curently we can make promotions about the quality of the chiken that we use. We can
also arrange for tours of our chicken farms for the customers so that their faith is restored.

Uncertainty Avoidance-

Souvik- But looking at the current revenue report of your Region, can you afford to spend such an
expense?

Long term orientation-

Prodyumna- Yes I agree it will cost us quite a bit but in the long run, we stand to make profit from
this.

Indulgence vs Restraint-

Koustav- In addition to that, all of us here, will need to work their heart out. We will have to work
our 110% to maintain the quality of food that we are serving. This will include overtimes, more
concentration and focus at work.

Aindrilla- Yaa that fine but, please maintain the work life balance of the employees otherwise, it will
affect the work culture and unhappy employees means unhappy customers.

Prodyumna- Yes maam that’s true but we believe in hard work and we will give our best to
overcome the situation.
