Why do organisations use spreadsheets?

Analysing Data Notes / Examples

Spreadsheet
What tool was used to create this When you hover over the cell that you want to view to
chart? see the data implemented into a graph. You just need
to press the cell and that almost highlights the cell.
Then you press insert then press chart. You have
various options to press what charts you want your
data to be presented for e.g. doughnut chart, bar
chart, pie chart or column chart.

What trend does the spreadsheet My homework spreadsheet shows how many hours a
chart show? day of the week from monday to friday also the
weekend e.g. monday 17/01/22 I have done a total of
10.3 hours of homework. On Tuesday I did 2.45 the
same as wednesday. Then for the rest of the week, I
did none. THe trend that has been implemented is the
amount of hours per week is implemented into data in
the form of a visual graph or pie chart to represent
that data. The trend will show how many hours of
homework I have done e.g. a combo chart I have
done more hours on monday 17/01/22.
Why is it important that the data is The data is important because you don’t want to
accurate? implement incorrect data on a sum e.g. =sum(b4-c4)
and that calculation is not what you’re supposed to
do then it’s incorrect therefore you have to make sure
it is correct. The reason why businesses and IT use
spreadsheets to make sure their calculations are
correct is because human intervention of calculations
can be incorrect so you can use calculations within a
spreadsheet to get the right answer. Imagine if your
accountant and your job is to calcule calculations. If
you use a spreadsheet you can deal with many
difficult calculations. The advantage is that you don’t
need to calculate them; the spreadsheet does it itself.
The data needs to be accurate because the data
implemented e.g. a supermarket needs data on a
spreadsheet to be accurate so they will know how
many e.g. milk gallons they need.

What key piece of information is I don’t think there is anything missing for the chat as
missing from the chart? a whole. I think it is fine. It represents data well so it
can be understandable to see visually and it is easy
to add up by e.g. graph. I can add the numbers up to
get a total. The reason why I don’t think there is no
key information missed out is because the data has
been well displayed with the amount of hours of
homework. Personally I like how it is layouted out.
The graph clearly shows where I need to do more
homework for the week and that is an improvement in
visual representation in my eyes. I like it.

What feature was used for the cells When you press on a cell and you click the left
holding the data down the left hand mouse button and you drag the column down you
side of the graph? can highlight the whole row to add a sum e.g.
a1+a2+a3+a4+a5+a6+a7 and that should give you a
total amount. The feature that was used is not
necessarily copy and paste nevertheless copying
data down the column to implement a sum. The data
that has been used down the left hand side can be
the name, day, product, student number or item. This
is called a column that is stored in cells.

How would the cells be formatted The cells has been formatted that holds the data e.g.
that hold the data across the bottom in my homework tracking spreadsheet where at the
of the graph? bottom of the graph where data has been presented
holds information of the days of the week (monday to
sunday) and the total week hours of homework
displayed perfectly to show a visual representation of
the data. The horizontal axis holds the data across
the screen at the bottom of the graph and displays
the days of the week to make it very clear of what is
telling me.
What is good about this graph / I really like the spreadsheet because It has
spreadsheet? implemented my data perfectly with a visual
representation of the days of the week at the bottom,
the number going up at the left hand side from 0 to
12. The first week e.g. 17/01/22 is on the left hand side
as well which is interesting. The document name is
on the bottom of the document. The bar chart is a
representation of the dat a
