Introduction
My aim for my Digital Portfolio is aimed at potential employers and tutors. Employers and tutors

will both see my Digital Portfolio that will show off my achievements and what I have learnt

throughout the year on my course. It will express my personality and also my interests and

hobbies. My Digital Portfolio will be presented professionally because the tutors and employers

will find it very interesting to read and will instantly be engaged by the brief description plus the

design justification of the layout of the website. My Digital Portfolio will be very unique and

different from other people’s Digital Portfolio because that is how I will stand out from the

crowd. My Digital Portfolio will allow me to develop my skills in Website Development designing

layout and developing a website in Weebly.

My Digital Portfolio will allow me to be confident and it will allow me to deliver and express all of

my skills in my units these units are listed as Unit 3- Digital Portfolio, Unit 9- Spreadsheet

Development, Unit 13- Website Development, Unit 11- Computer Networks, Unit 1- The Online

World lastly Unit 2- Technology Systems. My website has access through Weebly which is on a

web browser such as Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge that is accessible on the internet. My

website on Weebly is controlled by Google where It allows me to make my website phenomenally

by adding images, different font styles, different colors, different themes, attaching work from

units, different backgrounds, text etc: I have made my website on Weebly look attractive and

professional for employers and tutors to make me stand out and when I apply for a job in IT It

will prevail eventually.

My Digital Portfolio will aim at employers and tutors, by making my Digital Portfolio look and

feel excellent is by making my Digital Portfolio express interesting personal stuff about me, my

achievements such as my previous coursework and what course I have progressed on. What

makes me stand out in the crowd is that I am interested in DOFE and I will start the program this

December which makes me stand out from the rest of the students. Being interested in DOFE will

make me a more interesting individual and the employer will absolutely find me very unique and

the employer and tutors will definitely put me in a job in IT.

My Digital Portfolio will have pages. These pages are the home page, about me, contact, Unit 3,

Unit 9, Unit 13, Unit 11, future plans, Unit 1, profile page and Unit 2. Is it very easy to navigate

through the use of hyperlinks that are working effectively plus it is important to navigate

through the web page easily and without any issues for potential employers and tutors who are

going to look at my Digital Portfolio in regards to an IT job. The importance of having hyperlinks

are very useful, to go through the pages to see what you have done. Also to have all the

hyperlinks to the pages of the website in Weebly working and are up and running to have a good

first impression to potential employers and for tutors.

The Color on my website will be a white background with blue smoke that is consistent

throughout the website. This is because my aim for the Weebly website is a professional look

with brief descriptions, plus images to go with it to look professional to make it very attractive

and unique for the employer. Being consistent is very important because the employer will look

at your Digital Portfolio and see If you have been consistent with the theme of the website and

also staying consistently through the website. The reason why I keep the background with the

white and blue smoke consistent is that my aim is to provide a good quality experience to

potential employers and my tutors. I have kept both the design aspect and the content of my

website consistent and look attractive because to create a good impact for potential employers

to make me stand out and also have a better chance of getting a job in IT.

My core skills are that I work extremely hard independently and I get the work done. I respect

one another’s opinions. I am a very trustworthy person and people can trust me. I respect each

other's backgrounds and respect each other’s qualities. I am a hard-working individual that has

the will to never give up and has the hope to keep going. I have resilience in recovering from

difficulties and toughness. I am great at working in a team. I can be very responsible in a work-

based environment. I am very good at decision making. My communication is very pretty good. I

also like communicating with new people. I am excellent at leadership guiding people in the

right direction. I have work ethics in an educational frame of mind.

2.1. About Me.

Hi, my name is Danial Ahmed, I am 18 years of age, I am currently studying BTEC IT level 2 with English and
math. I have gone to Girlington Primary School for my primary school, for my high school I went to Dixons
Allerton Academy. I'm currently studying at Shipley College. I had studied history, religious studies, French,
geography, business finance, art, design and technology. Last year I was studying level 1 media.

I am going to work extra hard to achieve my previous grades from last year. I am also going to do
everything in my power to achieve a distinction in my IT level 2, with effort and determination I will succeed.
My interests are reading interesting books such as Harry Potter, playing video games such as Grand Theft
Auto 5, I like sports such as American football, football, hockey, basketball, baseball, pro wrestling and also
golf. I love supercars such as Lamborghini svj, Porsche 911 turbo, Bugatti Chiron, Royal Royce Ghost and
finally a LaFerrari. I like swimming. It is not only the best but it is really fun.

2.2. Purpose.

I have created this portfolio because this is a brilliant way to convey my work into sections to

make it more interesting. Easy to navigate through different pages. Having a professional design

of the background for the tutors and employer who looks at my website. The purpose of having

images in my work is to make them more desirable. The color scheme is white and blue

throughout the website to make the colors more consistent to have a well-designed website.

3. Future Page.
The importance of planning what you’re going to do in the future is vital because having
goals in mind are exceptionally brilliant because you know where you want to go on a
course that you want to do, university, apprentice or even find a job. The importance of
planning for the future in my opinion is visualization, seeing your goals and achieving
them is by making your dreams become reality.

3.1 Next Steps

The next steps that I am planning are to get my grade 5 for English language and a grade
4 for math, get a distinction for my IT level 2 course in my initial two assessments and
also get a distinction in English spoken language.

3.2 Two Year Plan

My two-year plan is to have gotten a distinction on my level 2 IT, pass my English and math, and

progress onto a level 3 IT course which is for 2 years.

3.3 Five Year Plan

My five-year plan is to have a job in the IT industry which is computer science because this has

been my goal and I will pursue it. In 5 years I would like to have many qualifications throughout

my journey to my desire and goal.

4. Units.
4.1 Unit 1 - The online world

Unit 1 Is where you do assignments such as homework and you will do two initial

assessments that are after Christmas. We will understand how websites work, how emails

reach your computer, you will understand how computer applications affect your daily life.

You will understand and expand your knowledge by identifying the technology and

software that support them. Unit 1 is an assessment based unit where you complete

assignments regarding the online world, the online world is what websites are used for

example government, traffic reports, flight status updates, weather websites, the ways you

communicate through social media, voting, business networks, collaborating working,

business online conferencing, how you access work through the use of the google, the

software used for streaming online, binary, understand how zip files are compressed into

smaller files finally upgrading streaming etc.

Unit 1- The online world is about everything online what we use online for in our day to day life,

how you communicate online such as conference calls in business meetings social networking,

4.2 Unit 2 - Technology Systems

In technology systems we learn how computers work, we learn the components in a computer,

we learn how computers connect to the internet, how computer to computer work,

Technology systems are learning about computers, hardware such as a graphics card, the

software can be an operating system, input and output devices of a computer such as a

keyboard and a mouse control the movement and interact with the computer. We also will

understand how the router will connect to the internet and we will identify the components with

a pc. We learn why we use computers in our daily lives, to understand how computers are used

in a business environment and the types of business they use in a business environment, and to

understand the advantages and disadvantages of computers. These are the current assignments

I have been doing. Technology systems are more technical; these contain binary which is coding,

analogue and digital audio within a pc, we will explore the different sectors, you will discover

the variety of application softwares such as windows and mac.

4.3 Unit 9 - Spreadsheet development

Spreadsheet development is used to store data and information. It's the analysation of a subject

or topic that contains information that is implemented into a spreadsheet. We will learn how to

use a spreadsheet, we will learn how we use spreadsheets and the features of a spreadsheet. We

will develop and test our spreadsheet, design a spreadsheet, we will have to handle a huge

amount of data to deliver the output data to understand in a knowledgeable way. After you

have completed it, you will be asked to review the finalized spreadsheet. You will be able to

understand the different types of spreadsheets and the features available in spreadsheets and

software packages.

4.4 Unit 11 - Computer Networks

In this unit of computer networks, I will be able to understand the features and the uses of

computer networking. I will be asked to design a computer network. I will have to develop and

test a computer network. I will have to review the finalized computer networks. Computer

networks are vital in our daily lives in regard to business and personal lives. Computer

networking is a group of connected, wired or wireless hardware devices and software that

allows users to communicate with each other and to share work with each other.

4.5 Unit 13 - Website Design

This unit of website design contains text, graphics, animation, video, programs and scripts. To

have a successful website the website must be visually interesting whilst being easy to use. I will

be able to understand the uses and features of websites. To be able to design my own website. I

will be able to develop and test a website. Lastly, in the end, I will be able to review your finalized

website.

I have used a screen design such as the future plans because It shows the audience such as

my tutors to create a design of how my website of each page is laid out such as buttons,

pictures, and a description of each page is describing. I have used the design to express

what my website is describing and showing to the audience to have a visual layout to show

how the design of my website is. The future plan meets its purpose because it allows me to

express myself by showing my future achievements and goals for the future. It also tells

you my dreams and my future job. The main point is to be more personal to meet the

purpose because it is more engaging and very interesting to the audience who is reading

this. Talking about personal things relating to you will pique the interest of the audience

because when they share similar stuff to you they instantly want to know more about you.

The purpose of the future plans is to share future plans for the future to make other

people like it because everyone will be different. You have to be unique and different. The

home page will allow you to get to other pages throughout the website through the use of

the buttons and it is all accessed through the home page and this is why it is suitable for its

target audience.

The profile page of my screen design purpose is to create a visual creation of my website to

show how my website is a layout with buttons on the top right. There are pictures on each

side which is a motivational quote that is very inspiring to the audience to make them agree

with these quotations by relating to dreams and aspirations. The purpose of the brief is by

telling the audience what the profile page contains such as personal information, my core

skills and my work ethic. The purpose of the brief is to tell the audience how I am like in

regards to working and the work skills that make me unique and better. I have chosen the

design for the profile page layout of my website because it meets the purpose because it's

a good understanding of what I have added to my website. It meets the target audience

because it is a well-designed layout that meets the purpose. Also, it is suitable for its

audience by having its form and function by navigating to any page through the use of the

buttons on the top right that is visually interesting and it is very easy to navigate.

My first alternate design is technology systems because the theme of the background I

personally don’t like also the image doesn’t fit with its background. The background is white that

has a consistent blue smoke theme throughout the website after a while of seeing all of the

pages. It gets annoying and the design aspect of the backgrounds is simple and doesn’t fit in

with the images, text, and it doesn’t look good overall. I chose the blue background to make the

background simple and easy to the text, however, the theme would look very excellent by having

the background blue for the top of the page where there is the title and the image would look

better. For the text, it could be on a white background to make the text visible plus you are able

to see the attachment of my work that is attached that is interactive by scrolling down by the

scroll bar to look at my work for the unit. I could have added at least 3 images of technology

systems to show a visual aspect in regards to technology systems and what it is.

My second alternative design is about the homepage. I have chosen this particular design

because I have added less text such as: saying what my name is and saying this is my digital

portfolio and underneath I wrote a welcoming friendly introduction saying that I will be

showcasing my work through the units for evidence. Adding less text makes the introduction very

plain, simple and it is surely not engaging. It does not visually look excellent or make it stand out

because the color scheme consists of blue and white which is not very appealing to the audience

or employer. I Could have added more pictures for the homepage to make it more personal and

I could have added some pictures of the units, pictures of digital portfolios or illustrations. I

could have put social networking applications of images, put the URL of the social networking

applications of Shipley College because the employer and the audience would know that you can

identify that I understand you can find where you got the reliable information from. It is very

convenient because it is easier for the employer and the audience to navigate through your

website. I could improve this home page by making it more descriptive and in great detail to

meet the target audience and target audience. I could have changed the fonts instead of the

bold font for the title even though it stands out but maybe I could have changed the color of the

font so I would've liked it more.

The strengths of my website are that I learnt so many new things of making a website by adding

buttons, pages, adding text to the website (text), adding attachments of my work onto the

website (script document), I know how to add images on my website I drag the image logo on

the top left and drop it where I want it to go, I know how to change the theme of the web page

lastly I know how to add pages. I have developed vital skills for website development. I know

more knowledge in regards to designing and developing my own website on Weebly. The skills I

have obtained In website development will be with me whenever I make my own website.

Learning, practicing, obtaining new skills will be very useful for the future website development.

You already have the knowledge and experience to make my own.

The weakness of my website was the consistent white and blue color throughout the website. It

wasn't colorful and it didn't meet the target audience such as tutors, employers and not making

it look attractive. The change I would apply is to change the background color and the theme of

the web page to make it not just have a simple professional feel to it. I could add more detail

about the brief and the specification by applying it in my own interpretation. I could add more

pictures or illustrations of the units to make them more engaging and more eye-catching. I could

have changed the font color and the font style to make it unique and different so the employer
