E3051 - ELECTRIC REAR WINDOWS

DESCRIPTION
The electric windows in the rear doors are activated using the switches in the doors themselves and the driver's
front door.
The Body Computer controls the operation of the rear window motors.
The rear window raisers are commanded going down in automatic mode, according to the following logic:
- if the button pressure is between 60 and 300 milliseconds, the function is manual: the window goes down just
by pressing the button;
- if the pressure is longer than 300 milliseconds, the function is automatic: even if you stop pressing the button,
the window keeps going down all the way or until interrupted by the anti-crush safety system;
- further pressure on the button during window movement stops it in the position it is in;
- button pressure less than 60 milliseconds will be ignored (considered accidental).
Going up instead is commanded manually: the window goes up by holding the button down.
The power supply logic of the electric window controls is called "comfort enable":
- the window raising operation is activated only "under key", with the following exception: after a key-off, you can
raise the windows for 3 minutes; when that timing expires, the system will not accept any new commands.
- if one of the doors is opened during the timed period, new commands are no longer acquired, but any
commands received before the opening of the door are brought to a conclusion.
- if a door was already open at key-off, the commands received beforehand will be carried out.
The rear command unit (protection) is actuated by the "rear lock control" button on the driver's controls: locking
is indicated by the LED light going on next to the button itself and by it not going on in the rear buttons: when the
lock is activated, no rear button can control the window raisers.
Electric window system initialisation
The following electric window system reset procedure must be performed in the event of:
- interruption of the power supply: battery replacement or disconnection, protective fuse replacement,
etc…
- replacement is any of the system components (motors, window raisers, gaskets around the glass, glass
itself, etc.).
The initialisation procedure must be carried out with the doors closed and for each door, as described
below:
- fully close the window to be initialised, with manual operation;
- after the window has reached the upper end of travel, hold the up button down for at least 3 seconds.

FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION
Body Computer M001 - connector F pin 53 - powers with the above described "enable comfort" logic, the control
unit on the drivers side H044A and for the rear H053 and H054: this power supply also lights up the LED and
powers the controls.
Powering the N065 and N066 motors is sent from Body Computer M001 connector E pins 30-16 and 32-31, via
the line protected by M001 fuses F47 and F48.
The Body Computer M001 - connector A - receives a direct power supply from the battery through the line
protected by maxi fuse F01 of the engine compartment junction unit B001.
The Body Computer M001 receives an ignition-operated power supply (INT) at pin 12 of connector H: this signal
is used, amongst other things, to "wake up the network".
Pins 1 and 11 of connector G of M001 provide the Body Computer with a reference earth.
Powering the rear commands H053 and H054 comes from group H044, connector A pin 9; when the button is
pressed, this power supply is not "passed" to the rear commands that are thus inactive.
The rear window controls, integrated in the H044 group are re-sent to the rear commands H053 and H054 via the
Body Computer - connector F pins 10 and 38 for the left door and connector F pins 13 and 40 for the right.
