Products from steels according to this Standard are for use in welded (but see Section 8.4.2), riveted and Screwed structural components. They are not intended for heat treatment — apart from stresselieving heat treatment and normalizing 13 This Standard does not cover the following products from steels for general structural purposes: Seamless and welded tubes and precision steel tubes (seo DIN 1626 Part 1 to Part 4, DIN'1629 Part 1 toPart 4, DIN 2391 Part 2, DIN 2393 Part 2, DIN 2394, DIN 2395 Part 2, DIN 2395 Part 3), Steel castings (see DIN 1681), Cold rolled flat products without coating (see DIN 1623 Part 2, new version in preparation), Flat steel products with coatings (DIN Standards in preparation), Bright finished steel (see DIN 1652), Cold rolled sections (see DIN 17 118), Cold finished steel hollow sections (DIN Standards in preparation) For notes on Standards and standard-type publications for steels with adjacent fields of application see the end of this Standard. 2 Other relevant Standards and documents DIN. 1599 (at present in daft form) Marking of steels DIN 50.049 Certificates on material testings DIN 50111 Testing of metallic materials; tech: nological bending test DIN 50114 Testing of metallic materials; tensile test on sheet and strip under 3 mm thick without using an extensometer DIN 50115 Testing of _ metallic materials; notched-bar impact bending test DIN 50120 Part 2 Testing of steel; tensile test on ‘welded joints; pressure welded butt joints DIN 50121 Part 2 Testing of metallic materials; tech: ological bending test on welded joints and weld platings; pressure welded joints DIN 50124 Testing of metallic materials; tensile shear test on resistance spot welded, Projection welded and fusion spot welded joints DIN 50125 Testing of metallic materials; tensile test specimens, directions for their preparation DIN 50 145 Testing of metallic materials; tensile test Testing of steel and cast steel; con: version table for Vickers hardness, Brinell hardness, Rockwell hardness and tensile strength Testing of metallic materials; Brinell hardness testing DIN 51 210 Part 1 Testing of metallic materials; tensile test on wires without extensometer measurement Definitions and classification of steel grades Stahl-Eisen-Prifblatt 1805 *) (Steel-tron-Test Sheet) ‘Sampling and preparation of speci- mens for sample analysis of steels Handbuch far das Eisenhiittenlaboratorium ') Vol 2 (Handbook for the Ferrous Metallurgical Laboratory): The investigation of metallic me terials; Dusseldorf, 1966 Volume 5 (Supplement): ‘A4.1 — List of recommended arbi- tration procedures, B — procedure for sampling C ~ analysis procedures; in each case the most recent edition DIN 50150 DIN 50351 Euronorm 20 3 Definition Steels for general structural purposes are unalloyed steels which are characterized essentially by their tensile strength and yield point at ambient temperature and are used, for example, in building above and below ground, ‘bridge-building, hydraulic engineering, tank land bunker construction and in automotive and mech: {nical engineering. Note: Classification into unalloyed and alloyed steels is dealt with by Euronorm 20. 4 Dimensions and permissible dimensional deviations ‘The nominal dimensions and the permissible dimensional deviations of the products are to be agreed if possible at the time of ordering with reference to the relevant dimensional Standards (see list at the end of this Stan- ard) 5 Weights In calculating the weight of all steels covered by this Standard a density of 7.85 kg/dm? is assumed, ‘iy Publisher Verein Deutscher Eisenhittenieute obtainable from: Verlag Stahleisen mbH, Postfach 82 29, 4000 Dusseldorf 1 DIN 17100 Page 3 usted uoBoni4 a4 ‘pouteiiew s! poreo:pu|anjen whusew a4 MOIEG d % GOO'OJO N 5 100'0 tod tues oun uF % PLO‘ Pu oN 210 bx teeds ues e015 Jowwofoovojawe] - | - | -]-] = = feos o] oan 20015 oiw'ofosvofosoo} =| ~~ [= [= | = = Jeo foie loser] = 20515 oso'ofosvofosoof — | = [==] - = Jewel osc‘ oscro) — — ezsis | — |oso‘o|oso’o| wz'o | ozo 304 = | ea 0650" levers | - losoofosco] g | ezo lero a g or ers |owofosrojoava] 3 | seo | sco = _|oood 3 Wales jexers | — Joso'ofosc'o] 3 | evo |ero | i we cues exe ssu}oioofoavoleano] 2 | exo | 2x0 = Jeood i " ee iu ce sn]sooo|savofsan0] * | seo | sz0 = coo) : 4 Bee isn exe's |owo|sero|s500 seo | se = _ [ea] wvondo |=" ceo0 | eves eens Sele eee eee ale == f= P-L | [nse | ee00%| scoot eis 201 |c95| ons] oc = 015 |e95| ops] ors | aw oor<|£9'<|orc| are | arc oi <|€9'Z [ore 062 | sz seis smqura | segue ws sau one 9 tno 24 ieimen | “09 en} s | a 2 sls 2 eve ous you ope spe ions 1 Aq 9 ut onteodweD yonwou oda yeoqaiayg, ‘9018 yp 30 wontsoduios jeorways pus w SEF BPD "| EL Page 4 DIN 17 100 "wi gz 04 dn sossouxo14) 01 AjuO salidde anjensi4 1 (6 wnuxew © Aq AluoUsya pu “T £Z 40 £z Jo anjen aGesane unW}UIW a4) UeYA J0MO] 8q APU anIeA jenprAIpUl 9UO Aju ‘Aide | “614 pue p'L"py'g uonveg 01 BuIpsoa9e suoreD|y02 91 9914) WO4y anjen aGesane ay 29 01 278 suawoads assexsuen YoIym WOH YApIAN WW O9g = sioNPOAd 1) Wo4y Ede suawiDeds jeuIpMBuC] o1 Ajdde » Burpuag ay pue rs01 9/su21 24) Sze ‘See Spe Sse ‘Sof |OE8 01.dn Qz9 | 006 1.dn 069 0200't sec | soe | sie | see | ote Joizavanacs|oze evan oss| oon i i a Jsaranocv osaeianosr| oso g LG Tone | Pioee | ove AG nove = —_Joegavanosr fosaeran ois] ovsov go i | 4 a cy) tot 4 xan an i sez ‘Se ssz s9z Sle 3 [OPS © dn OLy | OBS o1dn ogy POT 2 gle gle SIZ ‘Sez tt a : : oxvorsnove ois xdn one —— se soz siz | se | see cue ac = = [esa sar = [ais oraroez fora ovanore| cis | fs un sau sagan 92 cu eu na wis | os | os | os | os ons | > or< | wee | ce | oz | wz om< | oe twa u ssa tp 0} tau suo} snpoad 0) ee Hy wd pod sd “ar sans son (1 s2nsedord yeos6ojouyoor pue jeojueyooyy 778 Wonses 03 Burpsoa9e yuounedn Jo WonIpuOD J0/pue Won |puD® paren}op-se aif Uy soa aun Jo FeRTOdOnd jeaEO|Ouyoo: puE ONGC GEL
