To give us news and updates about Economic globalization and global trade in the world,
Nikko Luna reporting.

Broadcaster(Nikko)

Thank you Christian, According to united nations, Economic globalization refers to the
increasing interdependence of world economies as a result of the growing scale of cross-border
trade of commodities and services, flow of international capital and wide and rapid spread of
technologies.

Christian, There were 2 forms of economy,

Protectionism which means protecting one’s economy from foreign competition by
creating trade barriers.
The Trump Administration's tariffs on steel and aluminum in 2018 are a recent example.

The other one was trade liberalization or free trade which means Act of reducing trade
barriers to make international trade easier between countries

the European Union has liberalized gas and electricity markets, instituting a competitive

system. Some leading European energy companies such as France's EDF and
Sweden's Vattenfall remain partially or completely in government ownership.

Global trade, also known as international trade, is simply the import and export of goods
and services across international boundaries.

Goods and services that enter into a country for sale are called imports. Goods and services that
leave a country for sale in another country are called exports. For example, a country may
import wheat because it doesn't have much arable land, but export oil because it has oil in
abundance.

Thank you Nikko, Neoliberals and environmentalist has a lot to say about environmental
degradation, Crisha Rubico whats the update.

Broadcaster( Crisha)

Yes Loella, Its hot here as Neoliberals and environmentalist debate the impact of free
trade on the environment. environmentalist argue that environmental issue should be given
priority over economic issues. Free trade through its emphasis on expansion of manufacturing is
associated with environmental damage. For their parts neoliberal sees the effort of
environmentalist as serious impediments to trade some seek to integrate those approaches. For
instance ecological modernization theory sees globalization as a process that can both protect
and enhance the environment.

In presents a review of environmental degradation . Air pollution, water pollution,

deforestation, soil degradation, sand depositing in dams, decaying urban infrastructure, and more
and more hazards such as floods, landslides and soil erosion are major consequences of
environmental degradation and are making tremendous loss both in life and property. Through
investigation, the author found that poor air quality in the large cities; water pollution in the
downstream of many rivers; the multiple problems of many mining areas; lack of access to fresh
water; decaying sewage systems; and the disastrous impact of these environmental degradations
on public health and agricultural products in many provinces is rather serious.

Thank you very much Chrisha, Now lets have the problems of poverty and inequality in
the Philippines Mary del alcantara reporting,

Broadcaster(Mary del)

Yes, christian, the Philippines, where more than a quarter of the country's population of
92.3 million lives below the poverty line, economic and social inequality is a major problem. The
Philippines has one of the highest rates of income inequality in the world, and unless action is
taken, the gap will continue to widen.
According to the ASEAN Trade Union Council, the Philippines has the third highest rate
of economic and social inequality in Southeast Asia. This problem is not limited to personal
wealth. Land distribution, educational and vocational opportunities and basic welfare programs
are also affected by the growing disparity between the Philippines' richest and poorest citizens.
As economic inequality has become more pronounced in the past decade, geographical disparity
has grown in the Philippines. In Mindanao, the southernmost and second largest of the
Philippines' islands, six of the 10 regions are among the top 10 nationally in terms of poverty
rates, with between 25 and 40 percent of families living in abject poverty. Nationwide, the 30
most deprived provinces are home to more than one-third of the Philippines' poorest families,
resulting in generational poverty that is incredibly difficult to escape.
As in many other parts of the world, it is often the indigenous population that suffers the most. In
the Philippines, the approximately 1.7 million people belonging to the nation's 100 ethnic groups
remain the most disadvantaged, with discrimination and a lack of opportunities creating serious
barriers.

Thank you very much marydel, Lets full our mind to some trivia about sustainable
development and food security in the world.
Trivia Newscaster( Mirasol)

Food security means that all people at all times have the access to sufficient, safe and
nutritious food that meets our food preferences and dietary needs.

Did you know that among the top ten most of the World’s Hungriest Countries in the world,
seven of them belong to AFRICA. These are:

1. Nigeria – Africa
2. Afghanistan - Asia
3. Lesotho- Africa
4. Sierra Leone- Africa
5. Liberia- Africa
6. Mozambique- Africa
7. Haiti- North America
8. Madagascar- Africa
9. Timor Leste- Asia
10. Chad – Africa

Did you know that GLOBAL WARNING has a significant effect on FOOD SECURITY?

Let’s find out why:

1. Extreme weather related disasters has reduced the yields of major crops.
2. Looking ahead, scietists project a higher temperature causing drought and water shortage
3. Countries with high levels of hunger are the ones who are highly vulnerable nto climate
change
4. Higher levels of carbon dioxide (CO2) reduce the nutritional value of crops
5. About 2/3 of food are lost and wasted because of extreme drought or floods caused by
climate change.

Did you already know that you, yes you could make a great change climate change and food
security

Simply by planting a tree?

1. Trees take in Carbon dioxide and exhales oxygen

Now, lets have some update about The global income inequality as problem of the world.
Diane reporting.

Broadcaster(Diane)

Yes christian, High levels of poverty and disparate wealth distribution are the clearest
signs of income inequality. According to Inequality.org, “income inequality refers to the extent
to which income is distributed in an uneven manner among a population.”

While global income inequality has existed for thousands of years, its shape has
continuously changed. In 1975, the distribution of global income was bimodal, which means that
the developed world was 10 times wealthier than the developing world. Within the past 40 years,
global income inequality has actually decreased.

Even though income inequality in developing countries is decreasing, developed countries have
seen an increase in income discrepancies within the past several decades. Based on information
from the Global Wealth Report 2015, 71 percent of adults worldwide possess less than $10,000
USD in total wealth.

Welcome back, to CVE news! As we continue lets explore more about third world and
global south. Cathlene reporting.

Broadcaster(cathlene)

Yes loella, lets catch some history; During the cold war where in the world is divided into
groups The First World consisted of the U.S., Western Europe and their allies. The Second
World was the so-called Communist Bloc: the Soviet Union, China, Cuba and friends. The
remaining nations, which aligned with neither group, were assigned to the Third World.
The Third World has always had blurred lines
Today, the powerful economies of the West are still sometimes described as
“First World,” but the term “Second World” has become largely obsolete following
the collapse of the Soviet Union. “Third World” remains the most common of the
original designations, but its meaning has changed from “non-aligned” and become
more of a blanket term for the developing world. Since it’s partially a relic of the Cold
War, many modern academics consider the “Third World” label to be outdated. Terms
such as “developing countries” and “low and lower-middle-income countries” are now
often used in its place.
A new and simpler classification. North-south were created as second world
countries either join in first or third world countries. Global Northern countries are those
nations that are economically developed such as the USA, the UK, Canada, Western European
nations and developed parts of Asia; Global Southern countries are those that are less
economically developed such as nations in Africa and some parts of Asia

Thank you very much cathlene. Lets us know more about Global city. Janna Reporting.

Broadcaster(Janna)

Thank you christian, Global city, an urban centre that enjoys significant competitive
advantages and that serves as a hub within a globalized economic system. The term has its
origins in research on cities carried out during the 1980s, which examined the common
characteristics of the world’s most important cities. However, with increased attention being paid
to processes of globalization during subsequent years, these world cities came to be known as
global cities. Linked with globalization was the idea of spatial reorganization and
the hypothesis that cities were becoming key loci within global networks of production, finance,
and telecommunications.

Early research on global cities concentrated on key urban centre such as London, New
York City, and Tokyo. With time, however, research has been completed on emerging global
cities outside of this triad, such as Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Houston, Los Angeles, Mexico
City, Paris, São Paulo, Sydney, and Zürich. Such cities are said to knit together to form a global
city network serving the requirements of transnational capital across broad swathes of territory.
