WEEK 1: TASK

“REFLECTION PAPER”

During my time studying this subject, I gained a great deal of knowledge. I now have a
better understanding of Rizal's life and achievements to our country. I've had a new viewpoint on
Rizal, our hero. While some of us just know Rizal as our national hero, I've come to learn that
he's just like the rest of us. He has his setbacks and victories.
His life was one of the most remarkable stories I've ever heard. Not just any regular
Filipino narrative, but the story of an extremely clever and brilliant Filipino who is willing to
spend his entire life to bring freedom and peace to his family and country.
Rizal is intelligent; he received outstanding grades in all of his disciplines. He finished
with honors and enrolled in a law school preparatory course at the University of Santo Tomas.
He holds two doctorates and a medical degree. He was a polymath who excelled in Science,
Algebra, and a variety of other subjects such as painting and farming. He has a wide range of
courses and fields, and he has even tried his hand at sculpture.
There is no doubt that Dr. Jose Rizal is an inspiration because of all of his heroic efforts.
When I first heard Jose Rizal's narrative, it became an instant inspiration for me. It made me fall
in love with the Philippines and everything about it.
Thank you to Rizal for inspiring me, and thank you to our professor for imparting and explaining
all of this knowledge to us so that we may grasp it better. His concept of nationalism taught us
how to appreciate and love our own race. It provided us a sense of belonging, reminding us that
we are Filipinos who should be proud of who we are and where we came from.
What I'm doing is giving it my all and putting forth every effort to become a useful
person in various facets of life. Simply expressed, Dr. Jose Rizal's story has motivated me in
such a way that it fuels my ambition to be a good citizen and a good student.
