Competencies of Entrepreneurs 

1. What characteristics that you can observe or see that is common to them?

- The characteristics among those well-known entrepreneurs in the Philippines that I

observe or see that is common to them is that they are all innovative. They are open for
improving and thinking new ideas that could benefit their business and continue to grow.

2. Who among the entrepreneurs you mentioned that you admire most and why? 

- Among the entrepreneurs mentioned above, the one that I admired the most is the one
and only Henry Sy. I admire him the most because he is an inspiration among those who wants
to start their very own business and the story of his success is truly a one of a kind and greatly
respected. He is a man of courage and doesn’t easily give up on what he wants.
3. In your own opinion, what do you need to possess to become a successful entrepreneur?

- In my opinion, the competencies that I need to possess to become a successful

entrepreneur are Leader, Decisive, Risk-taker, Opportunity-seeker, and Innovative. Being a
leader is the most important thing when running a business and I think having a skill on being
leader could help me lead my employees unto the right path that can lead to our success.
Decisive, when you are a leader, you should be firm on making decision because the decision
that you are going to make can either lead to success or failure. Risk-taker, why start a business
when you are afraid of failure? In order for us to be successful, we should always take a risk
even we all know that it has a low chance of succeeding. We should embrace failure for we can
learn from it and apply it once again to improve until you reach success. Opportunity-seeker, we
should always accept opportunities that comes into our life because it is a risk and we can gain
even more opportunities and learnings from it. Lastly, being innovative, we should not be scared
on creating and sharing our own ideas because it is the start greatness. Always dream big.
