Proposal- CGAP Advocacy Materials aN Republic ofthe Philippines DEPARTMENT OF LABOR AND EMPLOYMENT Regional Office No. 1 PROPOSAL FOR THE PURCHASE OF ADVOCACY AND LEARNING SUPPORT MATERIALS. RELATIVE TO CAREER GUIDANCE ADVOCACY PROGRAM 1. RATIONALE/OBJECTIVES ‘The Career Guidance Advocacy Program (CGAP) is one of the mechanisms of the Department to address the pressing problem of job-skills mismatch. The program aims to immerse the parents and the students on the realities of the labor market, and induce guidance counselors and career advocates to use career guidance as an effective tool in addressing the said perennial problem. One of the challenges brought about by the pandemic is the limited face-to-face delivery of Career Guidance and Employment Coaching to students. This has resulted to major shift to virtual means or through provision of 1—EC materials/modules to partner schools and their respective students, specifically Grade 12, Tech-Voc, and College would-be graduates. To ensure continuous delivery of CGEC, partnership and linkages with schools and various guidance counselors and career advocates shall be strengthened. Moreover, with the changes in the labor market brought about by the pandemic, provision of up-to-date LMI and other career guidance services is deemed essential to boost awareness and understanding of the labor market and promoting workforce-readiness among the youth. i PARTNERSHIP WITH SCHOOLS AND PROVISION OF LEARNING SUPPORT MATERIALS Each FO shall select or identify a school to receive learning support materials. At the same time, students of that particular school will be part of a CGEC session, either virtually or in a face-to- face activity. Aside from the discussion of the CGEC module and provision of LMI updates, the activity shall introduce the newly launched Career Information System of DOLE- Careerinfo.ph and the LEES portal and Labor Education Services of DOLE. Ill, DEVELOPMENT AND PURCHASE OF ADVQCACY MATERIALS FOR CGEC PARTNER IMPLEMENTERS Advocacy materials will also be provided to partner career advocates and CGEC implementers to demonstrate appreciation to their support in the promotion of the Career Guidance Advocacy Program.
