The issue of gun control is a sensitive and controversial issue that has been the subject

of debate for centuries. Due to the recent tragic mass shootings, this issue demand the best

solution (Mitka, 2013). Although strict gun control policies are well-known land rights in

developed countries, the United States is unique in that it legally recognizes the rights of

citizens to own and carry weapons. Given the tragedy associated with weapons, the view of

US arms control is more polarized and controversial than ever.

Part of the debate is those who support gun control. On the other hand, some people

oppose the control of weapons. Those who oppose the use of weapons management generally

believe that weapons management cannot solve existing problems caused by weapons, such

as crime and mass shooting. The right to control weapons is an effective deterrent. Citizens

who should abide by all laws, such as large-scale shooting, should carry weapons to protect

themselves from potentially harmful persons (Goyal et al., 2019). Gun control cannot prevent

criminals from possessing weapons. Whether legislation restricts the use of weapons by

criminals does not in itself resolve the situation of mass executions.

Weapons are deeply rooted in American society. The second amendment to the US

Constitution grants Americans the right to carry arms, and two-thirds of adult Americans own

weapons. Most owners of these guns say that the right to own guns is necessary for their

personal sense of freedom. At the same time, the use of weapon violence-from murders in

large cities to mass executions-debated proposals to restrict the use of firearms by Americans

in Parliament and state legislation (Harwood, 2002). Gun violence is part of more serious

social problems, such as crime prevention, health care, domestic violence, and product safety.

Despite the great overlap, each category provides slightly different methods for adjusting

guns. In particular, arms control has traditionally been considered a problem of crime

prevention.
Despite serious guerrilla opinions on this issue, a new study by the Pew Research

Center has shown that since 2017, U.S. support for stricter weapons laws has gradually

increased. In addition, although the views on most weapons regulations have hardly changed

in recent years, today, more and more Americans now ban magazines with higher

ammunition (71%) than two years ago. Overall, according to a survey conducted in

September, the proportion of Americans who believe that U.S. weapons laws should be

strengthened has increased from 52% in 2017 to 60% this year. The proportion of people who

do not want to tighten the gun laws has dropped from 18% in 2017 to 11% (Schaeffer, 2019).

Gun violence is a big problem so people and legislation is thinking about its possible

solutions. Gun control is mainly solution discussed by people. Some argued that if gun

control laws become too strict then crime will increase because uncivilized people can easily

attack civilized people without any fear for counter attack. Gun control will only limit guns

for civilized people not killer and shooters. Contrary to it, people argued that stricter gun laws

will reduce crime because if there will be not gun then no gun violence. People are mostly

supporting the stricter gun laws.
