Teacher Reflection after teaching
I have conducted this macro teaching in a 6-year class at TABIKA KEMAS KKP, Indah Permai,
which is the kindergarten where I teach. This lesson involves the whole lesson from the
induction set to the closing. This lesson supposed to takes 40 minutes. The children in my class
are 20 kids, and they all come from different backgrounds. Some of his parents work, and some
of his mothers is a housewife who can give more attention to her child while at home than the
children whose parents both work.
The subject I teach is English and as of today I am going to teach combining sounds into words.
Children's existing knowledge is the sound of every letter of the alphabet they have learned. And
today, they will learn more which is combining sounds. The objective I want to achieve is the
children able to recognize the letters. To recall back what they have learned by the sounds of.
some letters, namely f, m, p, h, b, a, t and c and children would be able to blend the sound to
form a simple word.
The induction set I did was singing ABC songs and also a fat cat. Both of these song are catchy
and lively, this song can inspire children to continue their learning. In this lesson, I did not
involve children because children are on leave due to MCO. If, the teaching method today are
with the children, I will gave my students the opportunity to sing and followed by the gestures I
did and followed by the students. With this experience, students will be more fun and happy to
follow the next learning as well as remember what they went through as well as the lessons
taught by the teacher at that time. Therefore, it is hoped that if this macro teaching is carried out
together with the children can give a good and controlled response. I use my assertiveness and
discipline to make sure children do not fall asleep. My loud and clear voice while giving
explanations can attract the interest of children. The voice and facial expressions and movements
of the teacher's style also play an important role. It is also a strength that I can exercise. The loud
and clear voice of the teacher can focus more and attract the attention of the students to the
teaching and learning sessions that are being conducted.
I teach according to the planned Daily Teaching Plan. For me, teaching with the daily teaching
planning prepared is much more easier for me to ensure that the teaching objectives of the day
are achieved. Preparing before teaching such as prepared the daily teaching plan
Not only facilitates teaching and learning but can also help in identifying the effectiveness in the
teaching that has been done. Providing teaching planning will help teachers always be on the

7
right track and not stray from teaching and learning to be achieved.. However, the planned
activities have time to be extended so that students are given more understanding during the
teaching and learning activities. Modifications are only made through the time the activity is
carried out but do not involve modifications to the Daily Lesson Plan.
The support I need is a whiteboard for me to write; I also need to correct the form of writing I
use. This is because I use a computer to create worksheets whose letter ‘t’ is not the same as
what I wrote. Students may be confused while carrying out the activity of imitating the writing I
give. In terms of the size of the writing, also I can not hold larger letters or letters, as I want to
emphasize the letters in red and white. I use a medium-sized flashcard as a teaching aid. To teach
phonics, recognizing phonics and its sound is very important. Phonics is taught to begin with the
most basic of making sounds for each letter. After each letter sound is mastered then enter the
phase of combining sounds.
My strength in this teaching is with the use of medium and clear scan cards where it is easier for
children to see. With a medium-size card children will be more interested in learning. And also
my loud and clear voice was my strength in teaching. I am also very experienced in teaching
phonic where I have participated in several phonic courses to strengthen my understanding of
phonics. With this experience, it makes it easier for me to teach a combination of sounds.
Mistakes in the sound of letters will result in misspellings and possible pronunciation will have
different meanings.
If I am given the opportunity again, and this time with the participation of children for the same
subject, I am very happy, and I promise to work even harder. I will ask for the opinions and
views of Preschool teachers who are more experienced than me. The difference I will make is in
terms of tools. I will have a larger sized tool because size also plays a role in attracting the
attention of students, especially preschool students. In addition to size, I also need to use bright
colours because small students are interested in seeing bright colours. It is also possible that I
will use the LCD in my teaching, to attract more students, especially during the Induction Set.
While the weakness that needs improvement in this micro teaching session is that I need to use a
more interesting method or approach to attract students to the teaching and learning session after
this Induction set. If the Induction set conducted does not get the student's attention, of course
the next teaching and learning steps will not be achieved as the targeted objectives.

8
Therefore, I hope to implement this activity more efficiently and interestingly to achieve the
teaching objectives that have been planned effectively. The experience and activities done by the
students themselves are more meaningful and more effective than the teachers who do it.
In conclusion, I am satisfied with what I did today and I hope I can do even better while with the
kids. I also hope I will always be able to maintain a clear voice and correct pronunciation during
learning. Feedback from children can help to make teaching and learning better..
