Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw

Sharpen the Saw means preserving and enhancing the greatest asset you have—you. It means
having a balanced program for self-renewal in the four areas of your life: physical,
social/emotional, mental, and spiritual.

As you renew yourself in each of the four areas, you create growth and change in your life.
Sharpen the Saw keeps you fresh so you can continue to practice the other six habits. You
increase your capacity to produce and handle the challenges around you. Without this
renewal, the body becomes weak, the mind mechanical, the emotions raw, the spirit
insensitive, and the person selfish.

This means that we need to have a balanced life and keep our body in perfect condition which
is our best tool.

our body always reacts to how we treat it if we have a poor diet we will have laziness, if we do
not feed our mind with books we will not be able to overcome the obstacles that life puts us,
not having spiritual peace will make us insensible with other people and not be socially or
mentally stable will make us isolate ourselves from other people.

A good practice for this can be to take a few minutes every day to exercise, meditate and read
a little about a topic of our interest.

In conclusion, the way we treat ourselves is the way we will project the world as we are.
