METHODOLOGY
Vicharchika.
The evaluation was done based on the changes in the parameters observed before and
after treatment.
Hypothesis:-
1. H0:- Both Khadira arishtadi kashaya and Navaka Kashaya are equally
effective in Vicharchika management.
2. H1:- there is a significant effect of khadira arishtadi kashaya over Navaka
kashaya in Vicharchika management.
3. H2:- there is a significant effect of Navaka kashaya over Khadira arishtadi
kashaya in Vicharchika management.
Source of data:-
Patients attending the Kayachikitsa OPD and IPD of Dhanvantari Ayurveda college
hospital, Siddapur were screened for Vicharchika roga .Out of which 40 diagnosed
patients of Vicharchika roga, who fulfilled the inclusion criteria, were selected for the
study. Demographic data related to disease were collected as per the case record
Literary source:-
Literary aspects of study were collected from classical Ayurvedic and Modern texts,

DRUG SOURCE
Authentic raw drugs required for the preparation of Khadira aristady kashaya and
Navaka kashaya were procured from local areas and market. The required medicines

Paired t – test:-
The statistical test that is used to test the difference in estimates before and after a trial
Here the effectiveness of treatment can be assessed through baseline and post-
intervention values. For each patient there will b two values available –one reading
taken before and other after intervention. If we find out the change in the values(either
subtract the before value from after value ,if most of the after values are higher
before value),the pair of observations will be reduced in to difference between pre and
post. If there is no change after intervention and the average change will be zero.
Formula for paired t Test = Mean of difference between before and after values
In this study, Paired t Test was used to test the difference in each of the Subjective
and Objective Parameters before treatment and after treatment in Group A. The
changes recorded for each of the Subjective and Objective Parameters were
on‘t’ value and ‘p’ value). In the same way, the results were interpreted in Group B.
both the groups were compared. Then conclusion was drawn regarding which group
was more effective (by comparing the ‘t’ values of both the groups).
It is applied to independent observations, when there are two different groups. Here

t= │ x1 – x2 │

In this study, Unpaired t Test was used to compare the difference in each of the
Subjective Parameters after treatment between Group A and Group B. The differences
in the readings recorded for each of the Subjective Parameters were interpreted as
Highly Significant, Statistically Significant and Not Significant (based on‘t’ value and
‘p’ value).

Level of Significance: –
The significance level α for a given hypothesis test is a value for which a P value less
Conventionally, the 5%, 1% and 0.1% (P < 0.05, 0.01 and 0.001) levels are used.194
