Aims: Ss will practise adjective word order and will develop their
speaking skills
Objectives: By the end of the lesson Ss will:
 determine the correct order of adjectives in a sentence
 complete the sentence by putting the adjectives in the correct
sequence
 participate actively in the class activities
Assumptions:
Ss have already been exposed to the comparison of adjectives and they
should be familiar with the adjective
Anticipated problems:
Some Ss are going to have difficulties with the right adjective word order
and they will tend to misplace them
Aids: Textbook,handouts, notebooks,video tape,etc.

Activity 1.
Warmer

Aims: to greet Ss, to make the presence, to appreciate Ss’ work


Timing: 7 minutes

Procedure: ; T writes the absentees
in the register, then she checks homework and Ss correct the mistakes, if
necessary. Then the T divides the class into four groups.

Activity 2.
Opening activity

Aims: to stir Ss’ curiosity, to motivate Ss by involving them into the


presentation of the new topic
Timing: 8 minutes

Presentation

Aims: to raise students awareness of the correct arrangement of


adjectives
to introduce students to the correct order of adjectives

Procedure: After observing the PowerPoint Presentation Ss have to
rearrange their adjectives in the correct order.

Activity 4.
Practice

Aims: to provide Ss’ with a suitable context to understand the new


structure and to practise it.

Procedure: Ss solve exercise no. 10, on page no. 79 by putting the
adjectives into the correct place, and then identify what kind of adjectives
they are. Ss have also to describe in groups some objects, by using as
many adjectives as possible.

Evaluation

Aims: to show Ss understanding of adjective word order and to


determine the correct sequence of adjectives
Timing: 10 minutes

Procedure: Ss watch the video snippet from Avatar and solve the task
based on the film. Ss have to place the adjectives about Na’ Vis into the
correct order.

use their previous knowledge

Procedure: T gives her Ss some worksheets based on the recently
acquired structure
