The given table compares and contrasts the mean overall scores together with 4
individual skills in IELTS tests achieved by examinees within 4 separate Asian
countries namely: The Republic of Korea, The Philippines, Vietnam and Malaysia
in 2021
From an overall perspective, the average performance of test takers recorded was
obviously higher in Malaysia whereas the given figure for Korea was markedly
lower than those. Also, candidates from all nations were likely to do better in
receptive skills than productive skills.
It is apparent that learners from Korea and Vietnam performed considerably worse
in the IELTS test with 6.0 and 6.1 overall score respectively. While the receptive
skills in Vietnam obtained were slightly higher than those in Korea, the productive
skills were shown to be somewhat lower.
On the other hand, candidates from Malaysia and The Phillipines represented
better in overall scores and every individual skills. Whereas the listening skill in
The Phillipines was experienced to be higher than that in Malaysia, the rest skills
were, to some extent, lower.
As for specific data, while the receptive skills, including reading and writing, were
done better, the productive skills were tended to be harder for test takers from 4
Asian nations.
