Range Overview

Three MF 2400 models are available: the MF 2405 (33 ISO hp), the MF 2410 (40 ISO hp)
and the MF 2415 (47 ISO hp).

All three models share a number of features:

• Mitsubishi tier 2 emission compliant diesel engine

• 12/12 shuttle gearbox (30 kph)
• Four wheel drive only, 57 degree steering angle
• Electro-hydraulic front differential lock
• 540/1000 rev/min PTO speed and groundspeed
• 1000/2000 rev/min mid mounted PTO
• Two spool valves as standard
• Mechanical rear linkage, 1200 kg lift capacity
• Monocoque platform mounted on silent blocs
• Forward folding ROPS
• Range of agricultural and grassland tyres
• Choice of options: front end and wheel weights, front fenders, a variety of hitches

The extensive use of CAD/CAM design and manufacture for the MF 2400 series has created
a very efficiently packaged tractor. The most noticeable feature is the new lift up bonnet,
which gives the MF 2400 a modern and stylish look as well as the practical benefit of
excellent visibility to the front and particularly the front wheels.

Engine

All MF 2400s are fitted with water-cooled tier

2 emission compliant Mitsubishi diesel
engines, which deliver high power and torque
across their speed range for excellent output
and productivity. As well as being
economical, these engines are particularly
quiet to prevent the operator from fatigue and
stress. All 3 models feature a 38 litre fuel
tank to allow a full day’s work without
refuelling and a horizontal exhaust for
maximum visibility. The engine
characteristics are stated in Table 1.

All engines are well matched to the transmission to provide eager performance and good
fuel economy.

Clutch Arrangement

Mechanical dual plate clutch. One clutch disc engages the main drive and the other the PTO.
The new larger clutch discs - 230 mm on all models - ensure exceptional reliability and
durability.

Gearbox

All models are fitted with the updated 12 x 12 shuttle transmission (30 kph) with 4
synchronised gears and 3 ranges (low/medium/high). The gearbox demonstrates a good
gear progression to provide up to 4 gears in the important 4-12 km/h field working range.
This allows the operator to match the speed to any application. In addition when the job in
hand requires very slow speed the MF 2400 adapts itself with a forward speed from as low as
0.74 km/h at rated engine speed.

The gear levers are located either side of the steering column to allow easy access to the
platform area. The main range and gear levers are mounted to the right, whilst the
synchromesh reverse shuttle is conveniently placed to the left, thus leaving the right hand free
for PTO and hydraulics operation often required on the headland.

Front and rear axle

All MF 2400s are fitted with a centre drive four-wheel drive front axle and hydrostatic steering.
The portal bevel drive front axle offers unparalleled manoeuvrability to the MF 2400 thanks to
a 57-degree steering angle and an outstanding ground clearance. The turning radius can be
as low as 2,600 mm (depending upon wheel settings) and makes use of the new steering
system that uses its own independent hydraulic pump. The four-wheel drive is engaged
mechanically by a lever on top of the transmission.

The front differential lock gives true four-wheel drive to ensure maximum traction. It is easily
engaged with an electro-hydraulic control underneath the steering wheel, whereas the rear
differential lock is mechanically operated through a pedal on the platform floor.

In addition to the superb traction, 6 oil-cooled discs in the rear axle achieve efficient and
powerful braking. The brakes are mechanically operated by two independent foot pedals.

Power Take-Off

The MF 2400 Series feature an independent PTO driveline. Drive is taken from the dual
clutch straight to the rear PTO. This simple yet effective design minimises power losses.

Mechanical PTO allows precise modulation of engagement and is easily controlled by a

lever. The PTO is shiftable by means of a lever on the left-hand side of the main dashboard.

540, 1000 rev/min and groundspeed come as standard allowing operation of a variety of
implements. The groundspeed feature provides 7.1 rotations of the rear PTO output shaft for
each rotation of the tractors rear wheel.

The 1000/2000 rev/min mid-mounted PTO is available as an option to extend the versatility of
the range for the operation of a mowing deck as an example.

Impressive Hydraulic Response

The MF 2400 is fitted with an open centre

hydraulic system. The engine mounted
gear pump has an oil flow of 30 L/min to
ensure an impressive hydraulic response by 4 rear
the three point linkage and spool valves. hydraulic
outlets as
The MF 2400 features a second dedicated standard
15 L/min pump for the hydrostatic steering
system.

Two double-acting spool valves come as

standard as well as four rear hydraulic
couplers. One of the spool valves can be
converted to single acting with detent float
by means of a knob situated on top of the
transmission. For customers requiring the
use of specialist machinery, 4 additional
mid and front mounted hydraulic couplers
are available as an option.

10
Rear Linkage

The rear linkage is specified as follows on all MF 2400:

• Category I fixed ball end (Category I/II on MF 2415)

• 1,200 kg maximum lift capacity
• Mechanical linkage control
• Top link sensing
• Mechanical levelling on right hand lift rod
• Telescopic stabilisers

Mechanical Linkage Control

Two levers control the linkage, one is the

position control lever for lifting, lowering and
float. The other lever is the draft control lever.
The control panel also features two
adjustable stop screws, which allow the
operator to come back quickly to original
settings when performing headland turns.

On the MF 2400 when working in draft control

in varying soil conditions it is possible to
provide some position control by adjusting
the position control lever to improve
performance (Intermix).

The MF 2400 features a top link sensing that

is particularly of benefit in lighter draft
operations as the linkage responds more
sensitively to changes in draft forces.

For trailed implements several hitches are on offer in order to tailor this workhorse to the
customers’ needs:

• Category A swinging drawbar

• Height adjustable Category C drawbar
• Quick adjust 2 axle trailer hitch

Operator Platform: optimum comfort

These small commercial tractors have been designed around the operator to maximise his
comfort and safety.

The platform is mounted on silent blocs which provides a great reduction of noise to the
driver’s area so his comfort is maximised. On the other hand, a roll over protection
structure protects the driver and can be folded down in areas where the height is
restricted (greenhouse, low farm buildings etc).

11
The operator benefits from a modern and well laid out operator’s platform. The ergonomic
driving position that maximises the control of the machine and its productivity. The platform
arrangement are very neat and the colour-coded controls are within easy reach.

Comfort is ensured through a spring-suspended vinyl seat which is fitted with a seatbelt as
standard. The analogue control panel provides fast and accurate monitoring of the tractor
functions. In addition, outstanding visibility is achieved thanks to wheel-hugging fenders, a
rounded hood and a horizontal exhaust.

Options

A number of options are available to tailor the tractor to the customers’ needs such as:

• Although primarily an agricultural tractor with a range of agricultural tyres available, the
tractor can also be specified with turf tyres
• Front weights and rear wheel weights
