Stage 2 procedures are to ensure that the on site installation, hook up and power up are
completed in readiness for the acceptance of field driven I/O’s.
The procedures given here are a guide only and should be used in conjunction with the
manufacturer’s recommendations.

PROCEDURE
Note: If the cabinet holds a combination of marshalling terminals, also complete test
procedure TP-EI-060.
1. Check that the cabinets are secured into their final position.
2. All items of hardware mounted within the cabinet are firm and secure.
3. Check that all wiring between equipment racks, such as power supplies, serial links etc.,
are completed in accordance with the manufacturer’s hook up drawings.
4. Check that all interconnection wiring between other cabinets, operator stations, or remote
terminals are connected in accordance with the manufacturer’s hook up drawings.
5. Check that all power supply connections and battery backup supply connections have been
completed, and conform to the manufacturers hook up drawings.
6. Check that both the cabinet ac supply safety earthing installation, and the
instrument/computer earthing installation are complete, are segregated from each other,
and conform to the manufacturer’s drawings. The instrument/computer earth bar resistance
to reference ground point is to be less than 1 ohm.
7. Establish power to the cabinet and check power is available at all circuit breakers/fuses and
that any unit healthy LED’s are on.
8. When inspection has been successfully completed and all required remedial actions have
been taken, affix a site approved status label to the door near the lock and tie a site
approved commissioning tag to the door handle to indicate that the unit is ready to
accept I/O signals.
