THE CAUSES
What caused the revolution?
What Caused The
Scientific Revolution?
The initial cause of the Scientific Revolution was when Nicolaus Copernicus
suggested the Earth revolved around the Sun, and not the other way around.
The church posed major opposition to this theory, despite it being more
accurate than the old way of thinking.
Another major factor in causing the Scientific Revolution was the general
public’s acceptance of knowing that we don’t know everything. By realizing
that there was stuff they didn’t know and accepting their ignorance, it
allowed humans to be more open to learning new things.
What Caused The
Scientific Revolution?
Another major cause that sparked this revolution was the initial discovery of
America by the Europeans. Correlating with one of the previously mentioned
causes, the discovery of an entirely new continent proved the European’s
ignorance to new places and ideas. They were motivated them to conquer
these places, and in order to do so, they had to collect data and information
on the geography, plants, animals, climate, and cultures of this new land.
"The universe is rational and
based on mathematics."

THE PEOPLE
Who were involved?
Robert Boyle
Who is robert boyle
Robert Boyle FRS was a natural philosopher, chemist,
physicist, and inventor of Anglo-Irish ancestry. Boyle is
often considered as the first modern chemist, making him
one of the founding fathers of modern chemistry as well as
a pioneer of contemporary experimental scientific
technique.
What did he discover?
Robert Boyle is credited with discovering the renowned
Boyle's law, which states that the volume of a gas reduces
as pressure increases and vice versa. He was a strong
supporter of the scientific method and was a renowned
scientist and intellectual of his time.
Rene Descartes
Enlightenment
The Scientific Revolution was important to the development of the
individualistic values in the Enlightenment since it showed the power of
the human mind. It demonstrated how humans could come to their own
conclusions instead of just following a higher authority.

THE OUTCOMES
What was the desired outcome and the real outcome?

The desired outcome of the Scientific The real outcome of the Scientific
Revolution was to emphasize how Revolution was similar to that of the
