Parts of Computer
A human body has many parts like head,legs,face,heart,lungs,
brain,etc.Together,they make the body work.Similarly,a computer
also has many parts.Together,they make a computer system.The
main parts of a computer can be seen here:

Main Parts of a Computer:

Mouse
Scanner

Joystick

Printer
Monitor
Keyboard
Monitor
It looks like a Television. It
shows whatever we type and
draw. It can also be used to
watch movies and cartoons.
It has an ON/OFF button. We
press this button once to
switch the monitor ON. If we
press it again the monitor
gets switched OFF.
The monitor is also known as ON/OFF
VDU(Visual Display Unit).
Keyboard
Through,keyboard,we can give instructions to
the computer. Its an input device. It is used to
type letters, numbers, Symbols,etc. A keyboard
is connected to a computer system using a cable
or a wireless connection.
The Mouse
It has two buttons, Left button and Right button and a
Scroll Wheel on it. It is used to Point and Select the
items on the screen. When we move the mouse, a
Pointer moves on the screen in the same direction. It
helps us to make drawing, playing games,etc.

CPU
CPU stands for 'Central
Processing Unit' and is the
'brain' of the computer. It
does all the work and

Speakers

Used to listen to music,

or any audio or video
file available in the
computer.
Microphone

Allows the user to

record sounds as input
to their computer.
Scanner
This looks like a
photocopying machine,
its function is to scan
any document placed
on its flat glass and
send the contents to
the computer.
 Barcode Reader

● An input device that

converts a pattern of
printed bars into a
number that a computer
can read. They are often
used by businesses to
quickly input price and
product information.

information to the
