Why are you applying for Financial Aid?

Coursera is an online learning platform that provides materials from the best institutions. For me,
learning is a lifelong journey which leads to self improvement and I’m glad that I’ve found Coursera
who seems to share the same value as me. I believe I could grow and transform myself by getting
the best learning through Coursera.

However, I’m still a student who focuses on studying and gathering experiences through
organizational and volunteering activities, though they don’t generate any profits. Besides, it is hard
to find any job vacancy as most sectors are struggling in this pandemic situation. It results in me for
not having enough money to pay for the class registration.

I hope that my financial aid application can be approved as I have a high desire to learn by using
Coursera, especially for this material, ‘Marketing in a Digital World’. Afterwards, I could use my
knowledge to bring an impact to the marketing industries and also I will recommend Coursera to my
friends to help them grow too.

How will taking this course help you achieve your career goals? (150 words minimum required)

I major in industrial engineering, and I have broad knowledge as I learn a variety of sectors. But, my
major focuses on more about the engineering modules, which includes the supply chain
management, product planning and inventory control, quality control, etc. As for my career, I aspire
to become a management trainee in a company who has a responsibility to understand how a
company operates. To become a good management trainee, an integration of hard and soft skills is
needed to carry out the best result in doing jobs. Soft skills include leadership, negotiation,
communication, and many others, while hard skills include data analysis, business strategy,
marketing, and many others.

With that being said, I’ll be taking ‘Marketing in a Digital World’ course as a part of the ‘Digital
Marketing Specialization’ to deepen my knowledge in the marketing field. By learning this course, I
could combine my technical skills with business acumen to acquire all essential knowledge to
become future managers as a management trainee.
