“Love always expects the best of others”

In the poem “You are a Teacher,” that was the line that made me stop and reflect for a while

that being a teacher is not about merely teaching the minds of the children but also to love

everything about it. Teaching includes adoring what you do and embracing the purpose of what

you are doing. A teacher is someone who does all the things inside a four-corner classroom and

it also entails loving on each and every one of the students inside and outside of it. When we

love a person, we are always expecting the best of them because we trust them that no matter

what they do, they will succeed on it. Just like being a teacher, teachers love their students to

the extent that they will never lose hope for they believe in the potential of their students and

their capacity to bring out the best in themselves. A teacher’s love always expects the best of

their students for thousands of reasons but I think the upmost reason is just by being a teacher,

being the second parents of the students. Teachers and students is a family which may not be

by blood but in heart.
