p a r a m e t e r s d u r i n g take-off and L a n d i n g . S p é c i a l fea-
tures i n c L u d e a b r i g h t n e s s control for thé b a c k l i g h t e d
c h e c k item legends and easy-to-change Legend f i l m s .
Its m a j o r components are a p r i n t e d c i r c u i t board ( P C B )
assembly c o n t a i m ' n g thé L i g h t b o x e s , lamps and c o n t r o l s ;
one (028801) or two (028803) Legend f i l m s ; a mounting
plate ( f r o n t or r e a r ) and a cover ( r e a r or front).

1.1 MOUNTING

Thé Long r e c t a n g u L a r shaped P/N 028801 is d e s i g n e d to be

surface mounted w h i L e thé square P/N 028803 fastens onto
standard A R I N C Dzus r a i l s ( 5 3/4" w i d e p a n e L ) .

1.2 M A T E R I A L S AND CONSTRUCTION

Thé cover and m o u n t i n g plate are p a i n t e d a L u m i n u m sheet
m é t a l ; thé PCB is . 0 6 3 t h i c k FR-4 l a m i n a t e ; thé legend
filni is .007 t h i c k M y l a r w i t h matte f i n i s h and thé b l a c k
p l a s t i c L i g h t boxes are glass reinforced h e a t / f l a m e
résistant V a l o x ( P B T ) .
Four corner screws hold thé assembly together ( s e e
F i g u r e s 1 & 2 ) . Thé " A " screws ( u p p e r l e f t , lower
r i g h t ) fasten thé assembly to thé m o u n t i n g p l a t e ( P / N
028801) or hold thé back cover on ( P / N 028803). Thèse
"A" screws must a l w a y s be removed to gain access to
i n s i d e of check L i s t . Thé " B " screws ( u p p e r r i g h t ,
lower l e f t ) a t t a c h thé PCB assembly to thé front cover
( P / N 028801) or to thé m o u n t i n g plate ( P / N 028803). Thé
" A " and " B " s c r e w s , thé bn'ghtness c o n t r o l knob and thé
rhéostat m o u n t i n g nut must a l l be removed to gain

2.0 GENERAL

2.1 MOUNTING
Thé r e c t a n g u l a r P/N 028801 check L i s t can be a t t a c h e d to a
van'ety of surfaces using #8 ( 0 . 1 6 4 D I A ) pan head h a r d w a r e .
Thé check L i s t bottom surface becomes very w a r m , so thé unit
shouLd be mounted on a m é t a l or other surface w h i c h w i l l
" s i n k " thé heat away and keep thé check L i s t cooL d u r i n g
opérât i o n .

U A R N I N G: Do not mount thé c h e c k L i s t on any c o m b u s t i b l e

surf a c e .
P/N 028803 square check L i s t can onLy be i n s t a L L e d in
L o c a t i o n s s p e c i f i c a L L y designed for i t . A f t e r p u t t i n g c h e c k
L i s t in p o s i t i o n , rotate each of thé four " q u a r t e r - t u r n "
( D z u s ) fasteners 90 to Lock unit in p l a c e .

2.2 POWER CONNECTION

Thé 028801 has p L a i n #20 GA Leads and may be connected to any
28 v o l t A C / D C power s o u r c e . Connect b L a c k w i r e to thé power
source and thé w h i t e w i r e to g r o u n d .
P/N 028803 is thé s a m e , except that it uses A m p h e n o L
h e r m a p h r o d i t e connectors and may o n L y be connected as
