Task 1

1. During Takahashi's meeting with Rob, Ella, and Stephanie, there were various
cultural misunderstandings. The way Mr. Takahashi was greeted was one of
them. Mr. Takahashi was met with a handshake and a pat on the back from Rob,
which resulted in an odd expression on his face because Japanese people greet
each other by lowering their heads.
Another cultural misunderstanding occurred when Rob was not serious when
they were discussing business because he was ticking cards, which Takahashi
saw and thought was disrespectful of Rob.
Ella and Stephanie's clothing was also unsuitable, as secretaries in Japan
typically wear short skirts, and both men and women wear formal suits when
attending a meeting.

2. Rob and Ella should learn about different cultures so that they can avoid
misunderstandings when conducting meetings. Misunderstandings have a
detrimental influence. Rob and Ella should ask Stephanie to conduct study on the
client's culture, such as how they greet, how they dress in meetings, and what
attitude they have when in meetings, before the meeting. It is critical to have a
basic understanding of various cultures in order to avoid misunderstandings and
create a positive impression in front of others.

3. Mr. Takahashi was only pointing out the fact that their thoughts are significant,
not that they agree with Rob and Ella's views. Rob expected that Clifton Harding
associates would be hired for the advertising campaign, but his assumption could
be inaccurate. Rob should have waited for Mr. Takahashi finished his part of the
conversation so that he could comprehend what he meant. In my view, Mr
Takahashi would not hire Clifton Harding associates because of the company's
behavior.
Task 2

1. In Australia, To “table” means to bring it forward for more discussion, it’s totally
opposite of U.S meaning for which the colleagues ignore the request and keep
discussing it further.

2. In this scenario, I have broken some rules of German polite behavior, proper

greetings, punctuality, privacy and personal space. Time conscious Germans do
not prefer anyone to be late for even a minute. Even if the business has been
associated for long years, So germans likes to keep things into privacy or space
and many adhere to formal greetings like”Frau” and “Herr”

3. Yes may not necessarily seem to be "yes" in the western sense. Yes can be used
to confirm that a person has heard or comprehended something, but it does not
always mean that they agree with it. You're unlikely to get a flat-out refusal. "It will
be tough," for example, is one way that Japanese people indirectly say no. "I'll
consult with my boss," "I'm not sure about it," "We'll think about it," and "I’ll see."
