respondents taking STEM and ICT strands from different senior high schools in Lipa City

and data gathered from the Department of Education Division of Lipa office. The

collected data will be used to calculate the historical demand and supply of the proposed

programs. The proponents will use questionnaires that will be distributed among different

senior high schools offering STEM and ICT strands. The survey will be the basis to

establish a relevant and reliable analysis of the feasibility of the program under study.

This study is limited to the data collected from the respondents and the number of

respondents was determined using Raosoft Software.

The technical study made by the proponents includes certain factors such as the

selection of resources and equipment to be used, the program curriculum, the labor

requirements, the students and the classroom schedule. It also emphasizes the

identification of the processes related to admission and registration. Part of the limitation
BATANGAS STATE UNIVERSITY
College of Engineering and Computing Sciences

of the study is the availability of the classrooms and facilities due to the ongoing

construction of new story buildings in Batangas State University-Lipa.

In the management aspect, the study focused on the organizational structure of the

program and faculty members required for the continuous implementation of the

program. The limitations of this study would be the insufficient number of faculty

members who are degree holders or specialized in courses related to Information

Technology.

The financial aspect made by the researchers includes certain factors such as the

sources of financing, the total project cost, the financial assumptions and the financial

statements which clarify the study. As part of the limitations is the capital or budget of the

university in establishing the proposed program.

The last part of the study is the socioeconomic aspect. It covers the societal role of

the proposed program in Lipa City. The contribution of the proposed program to the

government and welfare of the people in the community are discussed in this study. This

also presents the possible employment generation. The proposed program will help the

government in providing and implementing free education. The limitations of the study

when it comes to socioeconomic aspects is the hiring of a highly competent and qualified

teaching force. Hiring will require a thorough screening of applicants based on the

standard set by the government.

ANALYSIS OF THE MARKET

DEMAND

Knowing the demand of the products and services being offered is very essential

in order to satisfy the needs and wants of the customers. The target market of the

proposed program are the graduating students of public and private Senior High Schools

in Lipa City.

For the proponents to easily identify the demand of the service, they distributed a

survey questionnaire among the Grade 11 students in selected schools in Lipa City. The

proponents used the random sampling method to determine their respondents and

randomly select them from every class sections they belong. Each student had an equal

chance of being selected as the respondents of the survey.

Statistical Treatment of Data

Raosoft Software. The proponents used Raosoft Software in order to identify

how many questionnaires should be distributed in order to have an equal and balanced

distribution based on the total population per school. It gives a more accurate sample size

needed based on the total population presented by the proponents.

FINANCIAL STUDY

Financial Study is one of the most important feasibility analyses required to carry

out a new service. It is a process through which profitability of the project can be estimated.

A financial feasibility study is an assessment of the financial aspects of an

organization or institution. It considered the start-up capital, expenses, revenues, and

investor income and disbursements. Other portions of a complete feasibility study will also

contribute data to a basic financial study.

This part of study shows the profitability and feasibility of the proposed business.

Having the necessary information to determine the cost financially in the production is a

very important factor. This also reveals the ability of an entity to finance the business

operations of the entity.

Objectives of the Study

BATANGAS STATE UNIVERSITY
College of Engineering and Computing Sciences

The general objective of the study is to determine the business’ financial position,

statements and its earnings performance and key financial ratios.

1. To create projection of operation needed and to analyze its performance through

financial assumptions;

2. To determine if the study is financially feasible and sustainable and;

3. To evaluate the performance of the business for the five-year period.

Sources of Financing

As a state university, the Batangas State University (BatStateU) is mandated to

ensure that all financial activities are conducted in an efficient, effective, and appropriate

manner. This further includes timely and accurate reporting of fund movements, security of

assets and the maintenance of adequate internal controls. These mandates are all within

legal, statutory, and ethical obligations of the University as provided for by existing laws,

rules and regulations.

Total Project Cost

A clearly presented projection cost can facilitate easier evaluation of the assets

needed in the overall operations of the institution. In determining the cost of the project,

scope and limitations must be given consideration as part of the business objects.

Assets are possessions owned by the enterprise. Fixed assets include office furniture

and fixtures, classroom furniture and fixtures, machineries and equipment and references

and reading materials used in the operations of the service.

The project will undergo budget proposal, and which has to be approved by the

university president, the Department of Budget and Management and the Commission on

Higher Education, since the project is an undergraduate program.

year operation of the organization.

Financial Assumptions

1. Labor

The labor rate of the employee depends on his/her position or academic rank in the

said university. Also, if he/she is a guest lecturer with the rate starting from
BATANGAS STATE UNIVERSITY
College of Engineering and Computing Sciences

P151.02 to P447.30; or a full-time faculty starting from P171 to P696 rate per

hour.

2. Machineries and Equipment, License Operating Systems and Softwares

The acquisition of good quality machineries and equipment in order to save in

maintenance cost for each equipment acquired.

3. Consumable and Non-consumable Supplies

The volume of the consumable supplies would be good for 1 year and for

non-consumable it would be good for 2 years.

4. Reference and Reading Materials

The reference and reading materials to be purchased should be five (5)

titles per professional courses and one of these should be published within

the last five (5) years according to CMO No. 25 s. 2015 section 15.

5. Depreciation

The original price of the purchased supplies are expected to depreciate

according to its useful life.

FINANCIAL STATEMENTS

Financial statements are written records that convey the financial activities and

conditions of a business or entity and consist of four major components. Financial

statements are meant to present the financial information of the entity in question as

clearly and concisely as possible for both the entity and for readers. These for businesses

usually include income statements, balance sheets, statements of retained earnings and
BATANGAS STATE UNIVERSITY

cash flows, but may also require additional detailed disclosures depending on the relevant

accounting framework. These are often audited by government agencies, accountants,

firms, etc. to ensure accuracy and for tax, financing or investing purposes.

Statement of Financial Performance

A statement of financial performance is an accounting summary that details a

business organization's revenues, expenses and net income. Three financial statements

comprise the statement of financial performance: income statement, balance sheet and

cash flow statement.

The university’s financial performance reveals that the program will earn Php

1,209,416.61 and will increase to Php 4,467,428.33 after five years. This shows that the

program will be profitable and be able to cover its expenses.

enough to carry out all the investment put in the business. The financial analysis focuses

on income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

Cash Flow Statement

A cash flow statement tells how much cash is entering and leaving the business.

Along with balance sheets and income statements, it’s one of the three most important

financial statements for managing small business accounting and making sure you have

enough cash to keep operating.

Cash considers as the most liquid among all asset, the business needs to monitor

inflows and outflows that coming from operating, investing, and financing activities to

make sure that their cash is either increasing or decreasing.

Batangas State University - Lipa City cash flows reveal that the increase/

(decrease) in cash flow in 2022 is - 7, 266,713.31, in 2023 is -6,000,278.85, in 2024 is

-3,403,485.73, in 2025 is -428.24, and in 2026 is 3, 402,316.17. This shows as the

business operates over the years, it recovers all the cost of acquiring the assets and

become profitable in the long run.

CHAPTER VI
SOCIO ECONOMIC STUDY
Establishing a business is not only about giving customers what they need or

make a profit, but it also holds greater responsibility to the society or with the same

sectors your business is in as well as to the environment. Creating of product or service

that hugely helps society is a major factor to the consumer nowadays. It is now a trend to

build a system wherein environmental, quality of the product or service, process, and

facility are functioning smoothly and passed with the international standards.

The three main focus of the socio-economic study is the social impact, and

economic impact. It should clearly show the relationship between all these to measure the

overall impact on the business.

Economic Impact

The economic impact of the proposed program is it can create

opportunities. The university can hire employees to fill in the position vacant and to be

able to complete the set of requirements needed to operate the proposed program. The

university can also help graduate from the proposed program to have a better future since

Batangas State University is a well-known institution that has a connection to different

companies and businesses in the Batangas area. Human capital has long been considered

the most distinctive feature of the economic system and further work has proven the

impact of education on productivity growth empirically. Producing IT graduates help also

the economy to be more competitive especially Business Processing Outsourcing (BPO)

is one of the booming industry and Batangas State University can ensure the quality of

education it gives to fulfill the needs of every student. It aims to fulfill the needs of the

students when it comes to job opportunities outside the university. Competition outside

the university cannot be predicted however, the institution ensures the preparedness and

competitiveness of their graduates in the labor market.

Social Impact

The training and development that nurture the knowledge and skills of the

students with the help of the institution, prepare them in the work outside the corners of

the classroom. The collaboration of the students, instructors, and university personnel

creates a response to the invitation of the economics’ demand to improve society.

Through these actions, the university is competent and committed to fulfilling its duties

and responsibilities in developing morally upright citizens who are active participants in

nation-building and contribute to the present challenges in our society.

APPENDIX

For choosing what method should be used in the projecting Demand and Supply,

the proponents use Arithmetic Straight Line, Statistical Straight Line since the data is

consider consistently increasing these both method is best to consider. The proponents

should get the value of standard deviation for both method and the one with least value

should be pick in determining the most appropriate for set of figures on hand.
