Subject: Butler University Ranked #1 in Regional Universities Midwest for 2022

Good afternoon Sarah: A total of 157 schools are on the U.S. News & World Report’s
Regional Universities Midwest list, yet Butler University is ranked at the top. Founded in
1855 and with an undergraduate population of 4,492, Butler University has six academic
colleges and offers over 20 fields of study with over 60 majors, creating a unique college
experience for students from across the country.

Butler University has a 95.2% student vaccination rate, and has navigated the pandemic with
such success that in-person teaching is a common experience for students across campus.

● Butler University launched the “Butler Beyond” campaign in 2015, and had raised $243
million as of October of 2021.
● The Butler University Dance Marathon raised over $283 thousand in only 12 hours to
support patients at the Riley Hospital for Children.

Academic Success
Butler University has seen significant success across its six colleges, and this is shown in its
many programs and awards.
● Butler University has 65+ majors across all six colleges, including many dual-degree
programs and double majors.
● Butler University is ranked number one in Best Colleges for Veterans, Best
Undergraduate Teaching, and Most Innovative Schools.
● Butler University has a 75.6% graduation rate, and a student-teacher ratio of 12 to one.
● The campus is home to students from 33 different countries.

Pandemic Prevention and Procedures


In order to fight the spread of COVID-19 on campus, Butler University has taken a proactive
response to mitigate the spread within the Butler community.
● Before returning to campus after break, all students were tested for the COVID-19 virus.
● Students exhibiting symptoms can fill out a daily health screening that advises them on
what to do and where to go on campus.
● A COVID-19 Dashboard is updated every Friday to accurately reflect the amount of
cases on campus.
● As of February 18, 2022, there was only one positive case across campus.

Renovations and Social Activities


Butler University has several plans to expand and improve the campus for the future, including
renovations and new buildings.
● Officials plan to expand the campus to 15,000 students by 2035, with updated living
spaces and new buildings across campus.
● Atherton Union, the main dining hall on campus, is planned to receive extensive
renovations to its interior over the next three years.
● The Residential College first-year dorm is expected to be fully renovated over the
summer of 2022, along with the brand new Esports building.
