JOB OPPORTUNITY

Serves as the main support for the Program Director/Community Health in the
supervision of Volunteers, providing administrative and technical support for an average
of 50 - 55 Community Health Volunteers in the field per year.
I. Project/Program Support
Responsible for supporting the Program Director/Community Health with
preparation and review of all project documentation, project plans, ministry/host
agency agreements, and monitoring and evaluation documentation. This includes
conducting research from published materials. Assures completion of all aspects
of assigned project documentation.
Assists with the completion of all aspects of Volunteer program documentation,
including the collection, summarization, and distribution of Volunteer Quarterly
Reports (VRT) and the collection and summarization of program data for the
Project Annual Report (PSR) for Peace Corps Headquarters.
Responsible for carrying out site development and Volunteer visits as assigned, in
coordination with the Program Director/Community Health.
Responsible for maintaining and utilizing a variety of contacts in order to obtain
project resources and for managing all aspects of these transactions.

With guidelines from the Program Director/Community Health, assists with the
organization and implementation of project-related training workshops and national
and regional workshops and conferences with host country agencies. Assists in
the preparation of all needed documentation.
Assists with program coordination with the Training Manager of Pre-Service
Training (PST) and In-Service Training (IST) for Volunteers. Supports and
facilitates the PST and IST training processes and participates in the post-
evaluations of the effectiveness of training programs.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE
a. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Community Health, Rural
Community Development, or a related field.
b. Prior Work Experience: Three years progressively responsible experience in
program development, rural community development, and/or public health and
HIV/AIDS prevention.
c. Post Entry Training: Peace Corps on-the-job training. Periodic program workshops
offered by Peace Corps.
d. Language Proficiency: Level III English (good working knowledge) and level IV
Spanish (fluent) ability is required.
e. Knowledge: In-depth understanding of developmental plans and project-specific
organizations in Peru. Understanding of the Peruvian government’s objectives,
priorities and structure. Thorough knowledge of Peace Corps regulations and
operations. In-depth understanding of U.S. and Peruvian cultures, including areas of
cultural diversity.
f. Skills and Abilities: Ability to maintain good working relationships with Peace
Corps staff (American and local) and Volunteers. Ability to develop and maintain
mid-level contacts within the host government, international aid agencies, and
private sector. Ability to plan, organize and execute projects and to prepare
precise, analytical reports. Ability to work in cross-cultural training settings and to
develop training sessions and schedules. Strong interpersonal and cross cultural
skills. Ability to render advice employing sound judgment within Peace Corps
guidelines. Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office) required.
