Embedded Signature Assessment:

Learning Objective: Demonstrate your ability to engage learners and deepen understanding.
Description of Signature Assignment:
Student demonstration of teaching a self-developed lesson or lesson segment that illustrates the entire lesson cycle within a pre-clinical school-
situated or a university classroom teaching demonstration setting. The lesson will be taped, viewed, and reflected upon by the student based on the
rubric criteria. The last criteria Analyze teaching effectiveness is the guide for the resultant Proof of Teaching and Student Learning paper with
evidence cited back to Positive Learning Environment, Active Engagement of Students, Deepening of Learning, and Instructional Decision Making.

Directions for Students:


Develop a lesson or lesson segment with all learning supports based on a student-learning objective that is measurable. The lesson or lesson segment
will be taught within a pre-clinical school situation, university classroom teaching demonstration setting, or instructor approved setting. You will
arrange for taping the lesson including selecting and helping them cue in on specific segments that in the lesson cycle to be taped. The resultant
artifact is a Proof of Teaching and Student Learning paper supported by up to 2 video segments of 5 minutes each (or one 10-minute clip) cited
with time stamps and explanation within the paper. The paper is supported with citation to the following criteria: Positive Learning Environment,
Leverage Prior Knowledge and Experience of Students, Deepening of Learning, and Instructional Decision Making. Please include a short
introductory paragraph that clearly identifies the primary learning objective, class or grade level, and content.

Note: Teacher candidates must collect video consent forms signed by a parent or guardian to video record students in a Pk-12 classroom setting.
