III. Procedure
A. Preliminary Activities
1. Prayer
⮚ Ask the pupils to stand up and assign a pupil to lead the prayer.
2. Greetings
⮚ Good Morning Class!
3. Checking of Attendance
⮚ Check if someone is absent.
4. Reminders
⮚ Before sitting down, let them check below their desk if there’s
any trash, tell them to refrain from talking while the discussion is
ongoing and request everyone to arrange their chairs properly.
5. Review
⮚ Ask the pupils about the past lessons.
B. Motivation
⮚ Group the pupils into two group and answer the jumbled words.
Thenumbers below each box are the letters for the title of your
topic.

⮚ Play Charades. Pupils stay in their group. Each should choose their
representative.
⮚ The chosen representative will act something she /he had picked in the
container.

⮚ Let the pupils read the first sentence until the third sentence.

F. Abstraction
Positive degree.

When we speak about only one person or thing, we use the positive degree.

Comparative degree. When we compare two persons or two things with each
other. There are 2 ways that you can change “large” to the comparative
degree:

Add “er” to the end of the word

Add “more” to the front of the word

Superlative Degree When we compare more than two persons or things with
one another There are 2 ways that you can change “large” to the superlative
degree:

Add “est” to the end of the word

Add “most” to the front of the word

G. Application
Pick the adjectives in each sentence and identify the degree of comparison
each adjective belongs.

Examples:
I guess I’d rather buy this pair of shoes; It’s cheaper than the other.
● Baguio City is the coldest city in the country.

● My mother prepares the most delicious afritada in town.

● The tiger is a wild animal.

● Owl is more active at night.

✔ Comparative degree. When we compare two persons or two things
with each other. There are 2 ways that you can change “large” to the
