CLEANING Procedure

1. Clean
a. Hot water with dish detergent
b. Wash in RO Water / Rinse in DI Water
2. Attach Carrying Wire
a. Use lead or titanium wire
b. Make connection tight with SS304 bolts
3. Wash With MEK
a. Use Methyl Ethyl Ketone
b. 10 minutes
c. Wash in RO Water / Rinse in DI Water
4. Lye Bath
a. 3M NaOH
b. 20 min
c. Wash in RO Water / Rinse in DI Water
5. Deoxidation Bath
a. 5% HNO3
b. 3-5 minutes
c. Wash in RO Water / Rinse in DI Water

ANODIZING Procedure
1. Sulfuric Acid Bath
a. Use 50-70% battery acid
b. Run it on magnetic stirrer
c. Cool down during summer
d. Run for 1 hour
e. Wash in RO Water / Rinse in DI Water
2. Dye Bath
a. Use
b. Run on magnetic stirrer / hot plate
c. Heat to 70C
d. Wash in RO Water / Rinse in DI Water
3. Sealing Bath
a. 5 g/l nickel acetate, 1 g/l cobalt acetate, 8 g/l boric acid (in distilled
water) for 15-20 min at 70-90 C and pH 5-6.
