My Experiences After Breaking My Arm Twice

As a result of breaking my left arm multiple times, I tend to avoid using it, I occasionally

experience dull pains in the arm, and I will be stuck with a minor deformity for the foreseeable

future. Firstly, I tend to avoid using my left arm in various situations such as while eating,

writing, or working. In cases where I am not directly required to use it, the arm can usually be

found either resting on my lap while sitting or hanging idly at my side while standing. This was

a result of the time I spent with my left arm in a cast, during which I could not use it effectively.

Secondly, I occasionally experience a semi-conscious reaction to seeing or hearing something

which reminds me of my own injuries. These situations usually cause a dull pain to present

itself around the area where my arm was broken, which leads me to clench my hand into a fist

a few times or roll my wrist around to ward off the feeling. Finally, I will continue to live my life

with a somewhat minor deformation of my left forearm. Due to the way the bones healed, the

area just above my wrist is twisted inwards slightly. As a result, my left hand rests awkwardly

compared to my right, though it would not be noticeable without prior knowledge of my injuries

or extensive observation of both arms. Additionally, this deformation causes minor discomfort

when I am using keyboards, requiring me to occasionally adjust my left arm to alleviate said

discomfort. In conclusion, I find myself sheltering, moving, and adjusting my left arm far more

than the average person due to my previous injuries.
