Architectural heritage is a valuable resource that needs to be taken care of and

preserved. History cannot be written without these places as they are a part of our
ancestors. Some people regard these historical sights as a burden because it is difficult
to reconstruct them due to the shape, material, available technology, etc. But I believe
that their cultural value is far more than all these challenges and we should take every
effort in rebuilding them for further generations.

Through the ages, mankind has built for itself architectural masterpieces - edifices of
great artistic value, representing the most important historical events and
personalities. Great cities, such as Rome or Constantinople, have been renowned
throughout all lands for their fascinating palaces and churches. Astounding triumphal
arches and public squares have adorned our small towns for centuries. And now, on
the threshold of the 21st century, we watch helplessly a large number of these
symbols of human genius tumbling down into a pile of dust. Europe has a rich
architectural heritage and as it is one of the world's most visited regions, the
maintenance of that heritage plays a major part in keeping the European tourism
industry in health. However, with the financial crisis of 2008 still bearing down on
our care and attention must be given to make certain that essential reconstruction
takes place with an eye on the future and not just the past.

Reconstruction is an attempt to replicate the style and form of a building, townscape,

or landscape. Some reconstruction projects can be regarded as "true" to the original,
while others attempt to create a convincing simulation without presenting themselves
as the real thing. The way we treat architectural heritage, architectural relics, and sites
of historical importance is an important part of preserving history and civilization.

Architectural heritage sites should be reconstructed because it is a landmarks of our

history. Its design has come from people's experiences and imagination in the past.
With the development of technology, we can keep the original image and structure,
and make it more convenient for daily use. Architectural heritage is more than just the
historical buildings of a country - it defines a time and gives us a description of a
society, its art, and culture. The architecture of a place gives us a picture of its history,
background, culture, and personality. It is not only the past that is important -
architecture has always told us about current events in society, from the political to
the social. Like the buildings themselves, architectural heritage has many
components.

In the modern world, there are many examples of new buildings and architectural
structures, which have a long history. Nowadays it is popular to reconstruct the old
cultural heritage in order to preserve part of the national culture and provide future
generations with such monuments of architecture. It is an important thing to do as a
large number of these constructions are destroyed by various circumstances
nowadays. Besides, some constructions may lose their original purpose and become a
danger to people so they should be either restored or rebuilt.
