Two version of the same song

In the song ¨Everybody Knows (I still Love You)¨which was released in 1964 by the band
Dave Clark Five the video shows them performing it live on a TV show and the five guys were
in all white suits playing their song. The message of the original version of the song was
everybody knows I still love you and that you don't love me back. In the second video instead of
the band playing live it has a 45 record with the song name and pictures of the band through the
years. The message of the second song Everybody Knows (You Said Goodbye) which was
released in 1967 was about the actual goodbye. The first song was for people trying to accept
that the relationship they are in is over and that they are the last one to see it. The second version
of the song was not only about how hard it is to realize that you are in a failed relationship but
also the terrible pain that comes from the break up.
In the 1964 version of the song ¨Everybody Knows (I Still Love You)¨ in 1964 you can tell it
the focus was on the music. When the band Dave Clark Five performed this song in the music
video there were not a lot of props in the music video. It was just a ballad by these five guys
performing a song about heartbreak. It references how the man in the song will always be in
love with her even though she treats him badly and doesn't love him. In the song it also talks
about how this girl is with another man but her new man will never love her the way the singer
does. Even though this is a sad song when it comes to the lyrics it does have an upbeat tempo.
The men were playing instruments and had tuxedos on. This song was meant for men or women
that are trying to realize they need to get out of or who are currently getting out of a bad
relationship. Those who are dealing with moving on but also still having love for the person that
they want to be with. After all, the claim of this song is that everybody knows I still love you.
The second video is a little different. The music video includes pictures of the band and
instead of the claim being everybody knows I still love you it is everybody knows you said
goodbye. This song has a little bit more of a somber feeling which makes sense for the message.
It still has an upbeat tempo which was normal for the time period it was written. The lyrics are
completely different in the two versions of the song. In the first version It says tears rolling down
my cheek for you. The song also says everybody knows you're tired of me and how everybody
knows the truth. This song went well with the first video because it showed the stages of
accepting a relationship is over. I think it just shows how difficult it is to finally move on and
how hard it is to watch the person you still love move on and it does not seem difficult to them at
all. That you must now acknowledge that the relationship is really over. The second song is still
for men or women getting out of relationships but this one is more for people who have been left
by their partner from their past relationship and moving on to finally accept goodbye.
The time between these videos was 3 years; the first video was made in 1964 and the second
video was made in 1967. The reason that I think this band decided to make two versions of this
song was to demonstrate the process of the break up. The first song was about realizing you need

to break up. You could hear the emotion of these five guys' voices about how hard it is to move
on. In the second version you could tell that there was a lot of pain when talking about this failed
relationship but it was time to say goodbye and move on even though it was hard.
In conclusion the first video was about the pain of dealing with getting out of a relationship and
the claim was everybody knows I still love you. This video was performed live and the lyrics
were about watching someone that you loved move on from you and still being completely in
love with them. The video appeals to pathos. It is a song that uses a lot of emotion talking about
getting out of a relationship that most people relate to and brings up emotions about that when
listening to the song.
The second video shows pictures of the five guys in the band and the lyrics are still very sad
and are still about loving someone but in this song there has been a goodbye. The other person
has moved on and how even though this is painful the relationship is over. The songs
complement each other but they have different claims and deal with slightly different phases of
the break up process. The first is for realizing a relationship is over and has fresh hurt and pain
and the second video is for people who are facing things being over and struggling to move on
from the pain.
