What is the
Kodaly Method?
A way of training children in music, devised by Zoltán
Kodaly, which is based on giving them a thorough
grounding in solfeggio, aimed at developing aural ability
with emphases on sight-singing, dictation and the reading
and writing of music.

How will the Kodaly Method help our
students?

a. Training the aural development of students will allow them to improve their music
performances.

b. The kodaly method will allow students to improve their ability to read and write
music. This will allow for a broader range of music to be accessed.

c. The physical movements of the method will allow students develop their rhythm
skills.

signs used in the Kodaly Method.
