Batas Militar is frequently referred to as "Martial Law" in English.

As defined, martial
law is the temporary imposition of direct military control over normal civil functions or the
suspension of civil law by a government, usually in response to a temporary emergency in
which civil forces are overwhelmed or in an occupied territory. The majority of people are
opposed to it, while others believe that martial law was not as horrible as we believed . The
brutality with which Marcos treated the Philippines was highlighted in our history, and he
was branded a dictator of the country. The “Batas Militar” and “Martial Law Myths Busted”
films are on Ferdinand Marcos' turbulent past, with substantial film footage of actual events
from 1972, when Marcos declared martial law.

He proclaimed the martial law to suppress increasing civil strife and the threat of a
communist takeover following a series of bombings in Manila.

Human rights violations, brutal killings, tortures, and an increase in basic needs
have all occurred, as has a drop in the value of the Philippine peso.

Under martial law the regime was able to reduce violent urban crime, collect
unregistered firearms, and suppress communist insurgency in some areas. At the same
time, a series of important new concessions were given to foreign investors, including a
prohibition on strikes by organized labour, and a land-reform program was launched.

She care for the citizen and country itself, she has a clean and excellent track
records, a complete package of experience in a competent and effective level of profession,
she has the political will, leadership, competency, and moral strength and capabilities to
implement such crtical programs for the betterment of the whole country.

Before watching these films, I had no idea how martial law affected the country. I
was astounded; it was the worst nightmare from which everyone in that situation could
only wish to awakenI'm at a loss for words as someone who hasn't paid much attention to
recent events in our country's history, and I didn't realize it until I saw the documentary
films. Watching these extensive and disturbing film footages of real-life events during
Marcos' reign elicited a range of emotions in me. To begin with, seeing Filipinos suffer
enraged me and made me feel sorry for them. Thinking about how the Philippines has been
colonized by various countries for many years and has finally achieved the freedom that we
deserve enraged Marcos, who stripped the Filipinos of their human rights, and tragically,
the Filipinos are being tormented again by their own countrymen. Marcus' regime,
metaphorically speaking, reopened the people's previously healed wounds. The president
clearly abuses his power, resulting in terrifying, horrible, and inequitable conditions.

Unfortunately, I was blinded by the information I learned about Martial Law. I

thought it was all good, successful, prosperous, and positive, and I even admired Marcos as
a great president; I thought life was a lot easier and fairer back then, but it turns out it
wasn't. The history was changed, distorted, revised, and altered with something that was
not true and original, which is what I only believed at the time. This is why students and
youth must pay attention to, combat, and eliminate historical distortion, particularly on
social media. It can begin with using your voice to help stop the spread of fake news.
Raising awareness about the dangers of fake information within your digital circle of family,
friends, and associates. Following that, avoid spreading misinformation, double-checking
facts before sharing sensitive and important issues or information, ensuring that the
website from which you obtain information is trustworthy or reliable, and practicing
evaluation skills and developing a critical mindset.

We are currently learning history, and it is like rubbing salt in a wound to recall the
pains the Marcoses inflicted on the Filipinos. No one should forget the past in order for the
heinous events of the past to never be repeated. These events should not be forgotten
because they resulted in horrifying, terrifying, and upsetting experiences for people in the
past. However, as a young millennial who has never experienced the horrors of martial law,
it is critical that I understand the facts and history surrounding it. I believe that if we all
come together as one country and help each other, we will be able to change the
perspectives of others and further the development of the Philippines.

Future generations should be educated and made more aware of what is really going
on in our country and how we can build a better society within ourselves. It saddens me
because there is such a vast difference between peace and the deafening silence that
existed back then as a result of people being unable to speak because they were either
afraid, silenced, or dead. The quizzes were getting worse at the time, and thousands of
people were imprisoned, arrested, executed, and abused by military personnel. Without a
doubt, our history has been more than a wild ride.
