Project Name: Reading chord charts and playing chords C, G and F

My students are high school students. Some of them might know chord charts and most
of them know how to read music notation. They might like popular music or hip hop. They
might be interested in learning how to play an instrument so they can accompany
themselves or so they can play with their friends.

 Students can put their fingers in the correct positions just by looking at a chart
 Students can play multiple chords in succession

Stage 3 – Learning Plan

 Students will be taught the parts of the ukulele
 As a teacher I will teach students how to read a chord chart and teach them three chords;
C, G and F
 I will challenge students to read charts of different chords to see if they can use their
knowledge to learn to play other chords
 I will have students in pairs and ask them to play the three chords I taught together so
that they can see if they are doing the fingerings correctly
 I will support individual learning by allowing students to move on to more challenging
chord progressions if they are able to
 Students will be able to create their own songs with the three chords I teach them and
then I will have all the students in the class play popular songs with the chords
