VIII. Self-Evaluation Mrs. Youngs Class

 What went well?
What went well in this lesson is that the students were able to
pronounce all the words correctly. Another thing that went well is
that the students were able to work with the assigned partners and
read the story and look over the vocabulary words in the book
and look at the synonyms and antonyms. The students were
engaged because I would have them guess what each word meant
and if one student was close to the definition, I would say “oooo
you are almost there can anyone else help that person to try and
finish the definition. For spelling the students were excited to get
new spelling words.
 What didn’t go well?
One thing that didn’t go well in this lesson is that when I would
have the students clap out the words, they were doing to many
claps with certain words. I had to step in and say the word and
then clap the words out for them. Then, I would have the retry the
words and clapping out the syllables. For the spelling words, the
students had trouble pronouncing them, so they would come up
to me and ask how to say that word.
 Something I would do different?
Something I would do different in this lesson is that I would say
the word and then clap out the syllables first. After I would have
done that I would have the students repeat what I was saying to
them. For spelling, I would have the students that are list A come
up to my desk and then I would pronounce the words for them
and then I would do the same to the students that have list B.
Mrs. Hunts Class
 What went well?
In this class since there are less of them, they tend to pay
attention a lot easier than the other class. This class has less
distractions when they are learning something new at the
beginning of the week. This class was able to pronounce the
vocabulary words correctly and they were able to clap the
syllables for some of the vocabulary words correctly but not all
of them. For the spelling words, the students were split up into
group A and group B.
