Student Satisfaction Analysis

4. Describe your survey population(s) (i.e., list appropriate demographic characteristics such
as grade level and subject for students).

Students who participated in this survey are in a 9th-grade core English class. Of the 30
students who participated, 21 were white, eight were African American, and one was
Hispanic. Fifteen are males, 14 females, and one is identified as other.

5. List factors that might have influenced the results (e.g., the survey was conducted near the
time of report cards or progress reports).

The survey was given after students completed workstations over a two-day period.

6. Analyze survey responses and answer the following questions:

A) What did students perceive as your major strengths?

The survey consistently showed that students perceive my major strengths are: being
neat and organized, trusting, fair and consistent in feedback, respectful of students
and values differences of opinion, and connecting with students in meaningful ways.
B) What did students perceive as your major weaknesses?

The survey feedback shows students felt I need to work on developing and enforcing
clear classroom expectations and procedures. I also need to be more clear when
providing directions.

C) How can you use this information for continuous professional growth?

I have developed a plan to establish classroom procedures where the students and
I work collaboratively to create a mutual set of expectations that will be enforced
during the school year and adjusted as needed.

When providing directions to my students, directions will be verbally stated and

written, so directions are clear for all learners. I will also ask students to repeat
directions back to me to ensure student understanding of expectations.
