Define each of the following:

1. Research – is a systematic process to investigate the problems, issue and factors in a specified
case that needs evidence and solution. It focuses on different issues like business, health, work
environment, politics and etc.

2. Research Design- is the framework of research methods and techniques that is pick from the
researcher to conduct the problem and issue. It can be experimental, survey, correlational,
semi-experimental, review and also its sub-type which is experimental design, research
problem, descriptive case-study.

3. Qualitative Research- is the process of collecting, analyzing and interpreting non-numerical data
such as language. It focuses on the behavior, situation and social reality and not really based on
the numbers. Best Example is the behavior of the target market on social media.

4. Quantitative Research- is the process of collecting and analyzing numerical data. It can be used
to find error, patterns and averages, make prediction or forecast, test causal relationships and
generalize results to wider population. Best example is the given data of Covid 19 cases from
Philhealth.

5. Primary Data- is a type of data that was obtain to the origin. It is collected by researchers
directly from the main sources through interviews, surveys, experiments and etc. Best Example
is the original letters of Dr. Jose Rizal and one on one interview of a certain business personnel.

6. Secondary Data- is the type of data that was obtain from a secondary user other than the
primary user. Common sources are social science include censuses, information collected by
government in Philhealth, SSS, Pag-Ibig, organizational records and data that was originally
collected for other research purposes.

7. Observation Method- is collecting data by observing the subject. It involves watching a


participant and recording relevant behavior for later analysis. Human Resource Management
and Psychology is the best example for conducting this kind of method.

8. Questionnaire Method-is an instrument for research that consist of questions, along with the
choices of answers, printed or typed in a sequence to conduct in the respondent. It either be
closed and open-ended questions or dichotomous questionnaire and Nominal questionnaire.

9. Interview Method-is the process of holding discussions with individuals or groups of individuals
to know their backgrounds, opinion in a certain issue and story.
10. Population- is a particular section, group or type of people or animals living in a certain area or
country. To know their culture, problem, gender and social economic issue in the kind of
population.

11. Sample Size- is the act of choosing the number of observations or replicates to include in a
statistical sample. The sample size is an important feature in empirical study in which the goal is
to make inferences about a population from a sample. It can be chosen on age, gender and work
background based on the research preference method.

12. Related literature- is composed of facts and principles from other books, encyclopedias,
websites, newspapers and other publications that can be relate to the present study and
research. It also gives strong foundation and extension in the research that researcher
conducted.
