MAINTENANCE PROCEDURE

As Per API 2I SECTION 3.3, recommended inspection procedure. Inspection need to be done by rig
crew, if any breakage found, require 3rd party to carry out the NDT (UT) on the anchor wire rope.
The recommended inspection procedure includes the following personnel and their duties:
1) The winch operator runs and stops the winch on the order of the chief inspector;
2) The barge master coordinates the work among inspection personnel, gives orders to the winch operator,
performs visual inspections and measurements, and rejects or accepts wire rope;
3) The rig crew keeps inspection records, performs visual inspections, and assists with measurements;
4) Roughnecks assist with inspections.
5) Inspection at least the maximum outboard line length that could be deployed.
6) Inspection criteria to be recorded (Visual)
I. Measure rope diameter.
II. Check for wear.
III. Check for corrosion.
IV. Check for deformation.
V. Check for the broken wire breakage, if found NDT (UT) will require.
NOTE:
· If components have been replaced or repaired, this is also to be reported under Work Report.
· For equipment require please refer API 2I section In-service Inspection of Mooring Hardware for Floating
Structures 3.3.2.
· Non-Destructive test (Ultrasonic test) required if found any broken on the wire rope during major
inspection.
As per:
1) API RP 2I In-service Inspection of Mooring Hardware for Floating Structures SECTION 3.3.6.3.
Barge Master is to ensure all work is carried out in a safety and orderly manner. Upon completion of
work, the Barge Master is to ensure all areas are free of hazards and confirm that all tools are
accounted for and that PTW paperwork has been signed off.
