REMOTIVATIONAL THERAPY
The remotivation therapy refers to a variety of group therapy

techniques used with chronically mentally ill patients in inpatient settings to

stimulate their communication, vocational, and social skills and interest in

their environment. Led or facilitated by Divine Paragas. Remotivation therapy is

the last therapy for the whole RLE session. The one of the hardest as our

clinical instructors said. The remotivation therapy is very helpful for the client

when they are at the phase of being mentally stable. The one thing that I

understand is that the purpose of remotivation therapy for the client is to

connect them once more to the outside world. Well it is obvious that they are

disconnected in reality due to their mental illness, It is not that easy to adjust

in the transition on returning to the reality. Our purpose as their nurse should

be the one facilitating and helping them to maximize their potentials in

reconnecting on what has been lost to them. We can do this via remotivation

therapy introducing things that are connected to the outside world which will

give them insight to the reality and gradually help them to recover and adjust

on the transition. This is very vital for our clients because if they feel that they

cannot relate to the outside world, it can provide some non-therapeutic effect

to them which will limit or slowing their recovery from the mental illness. So

our role as a nurse by guiding and providing them therapeutic communication

during these therapy will be a big help.
