Dear Mr. Gobernadorcillo of Calamba,

I am writing to you with great reluctance and heavy heart.

This petition is in regards to the unfair and unjust system of the land owners and friars
that caused suffer in your town. The rent of the land increase annualy and collected an
overpriced rental fees yet the friars didn’t issue receipts. Also, they have a faulty
irrigation in every tenants even if inquilinos and sharecroppers are paying high price of
rental fees. It seems that they are abusing the rights of the inquilinos and sharecroppers
in your town.

I spoke this to make an appeal about this unjust system of the land owners in your town
and abusing the rights of the people. Also, they are not issuing any receipts for proofs of
payments. These are all unfair to them because they are paying the right amount of
money on the right time. Without issuing the receipts, this will show that they are not
paying money-right on their rental fees.

Then, the tenants have no rights to do something for themselves. As tenants of the land,
they have the right to protest against the land owners will. The benefits will only receive
by the land owners and the tenants will forcely evict to their land.

I respectfully request for your response and action about this unkind system of
Calamba. I am hoping that you will consider and make a peace regarding this, stop the
suffering and receive the rights of the tenants.

I am enclosing a signed statement of the affected tenants for your referrence.
