ETC Zurich is one of the world's leading universities in science and technology. It is
located in Zürich, Switzerland and is a public research university. The university was
founded in 1984 by the Swiss Federal Government with the objective of educating
engineers and scientists, has 16 programs that offer academic education and
conduct scientific research.
ETC Zurich is among the best universities in the world. It is in the top 5 of the best
universities in Europe and in the top 10 of the best universities in the world.
As we already mentioned, the university is located in Zurich, the largest city in
Switzerland. Its headquarters are in the city center, and it has a huge campus located
on the outskirts of the city. The university not only offers academic education, but it
is also interested in its students exercising the body as well as the mind and that is
why there is the possibility of practicing a wide variety of sports.
ETC Zurich grants admission to all Swiss students who have taken the Matura exam.
Matura is a high school exit exam or "diploma of maturity" in several European
countries. Students from other countries take a full entrance exam. It has more than
20,000 students from 120 countries. The academic year is divided into two
semesters with exams at the end of each semester.
At the undergraduate level, the university offers 23 careers and 41 master's degrees.
In order to obtain the Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree, 180 credits
must be approved that last 3 years, that is 6 semesters. In the first year the basics
are taught in mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology. In the other two years,
specific subjects of each career are seen.
Individual freedom and responsibility, an entrepreneurial spirit and an open mind are
the values on which the university is founded. That is why ETH Zurich focuses on
the needs of people, in order to contribute to politics, the economy and society. The
university has 21 Nobel laureates including Albert Einstein and Wolfgang Pauli (1
Fields Medal winner, 2 Pritzker Prize winners).
The university has the best technology and is at the forefront of research in almost
all fields and is a very good option if you want to meet people from all over the world.
